That episode was hilariously bad, random aimless rubbish just like the rest of the series so far. The funniest part to me was the 3 dragon chicks waddling out of the Mandalorian Starfighter....there isn't enough room to swing a cat in that ship. This show now looks to be in a steep, terminal decline. Is that Deborah Chow lady the one really running the show, I doubt Filoni and Favreau are signing off on tamed dragon chicks getting a ride on a Mandalorian Starfighter.
totally agree

after this episode the hype is over , at least for me.

I cant stand more of this **** show

Not going to say it was bad, but...I just didn't feel it. Fav did say he wanted a more GOT approach this year so, flying dragons? Sure. Why not.

All that stuck out was...okay, we know what the new Grogu dolls clogging the shelves this holiday season will be wearing. Hot Toys now has a new accessory to feature with the Bo Katan re-issue, and Hasbro is going to be very busy working those Mando-Fett molds to death spinning off the endless variations of Mando figures and charging twice as much for them.

Oh the story? Right. We knew we were going to get a flashback with Grogu and it was rather rote and anticlimactic. Don't want to take away from the Best moment (and glad he got it after the grief he endured) but...it didn't amount to much more than a big chase scene. It could be interesting to see where that ship ended up but if not...oh well.

This show still seems all over the map tone-wise this year. It's not really having much sense to it...more like a string of set-pieces and characters spouting lines to carry it to the next set piece or action scene. The THISISTHEWAY resort features paintball and spelunking, arts and crafts, playtime on the beach and fireside chats. The focus is moving more towards Bo (Hey KK! it's the Womandalorian!). The mystery around Grogu is evaporating and taking with it the uniqueness and instead making the character look and feel like a gimmick. Burbling and cooing, wincing and jumping around, waddling and float-walking. It just looks weird. (But those new cuddly figures are going to be ADORABLE) Less was definitely more with Grogu.

I get it that the show is trying to grow and move into the "bigger" story, but when that movement is away from what made it interesting in the first place all that's left is pretty game pieces moving through the game. Not "bad", just bland, boring, interchangeable. It's rapidly losing my interest like Marvel did.
Sadly I have to agree. This episode was much better than the previous 3, however the bar was set really low.

I know Din has always been slightly clumsy (in moments) and in need of rescuing however something about it isn't working for me this season. I think it's because of how well Bo has developed as a character. The show is pretty much about her now. She's the best part of this season.

Not me, I'm having a ball:banana. It's probably Filoni's influence in handling interwoven characters, cultures, environments, creatures a la Rebels and Clone Wars.

E.g. Narratives that have time to breath with lots of interesting details. I mean, holy ^%$# a live action Mandalorian ship in loving detail with all the grime.

Different strokes I guess - in any case, am sure Mandalorian will keep me poor for a while.

Same here. I think there's some excess that could've been trimmed in places but overall I like the opportunities they've taken to connect to other parts of the universe.

Getting to see so much of Coruscant again has been amazing. But getting to see more of Coruscant during Order 66 especially so. LAATs, Tem Clones, the temple battle, the city chase; feels like a gift that adds to a pivotal moment in history that got glossed over as a montage in ROTS.

And I'm so happy Ahmed Best got a moment to shine. I recognized the character right away and it was a bit of a shock but it made total sense to me in that moment. It's difficult to come up with satisfying answers to questions like how Grogu survived Order 66 but I thought this was a great direction to take.

It's always nice to see elements of Naboo, too; one of my favorite planets. I commend the sacrifice of the Naboo guards but I was like man, they couldn't have made it more obvious where they were from for the Clones with their distinct uniforms and shiny silver ship.

I hope his friend is a certain Gungan. It would be unreal if we see Ahmed Beq and Ahmed Binks interact.

Ok, that'd be funny.
He has to be the one who sent that Naboo ship.:wink1:
Ahmed (Kelleran Beq) passing off Grogu to Ahmed (Binks) would be sensational. :lol

AHmed Best getting his moment to shine was cool to see. I also like how they showed a crowded Coruscant and the only part of the planet visible that they had in last weeks episode. Very different on how the population of the planet is seen. And Grogu is going to be the intergalactic Flavor Flav.

thats the thing, Lucasfilm is disney. Can call it Lucasfilm but buck ultimately stops with Disney. Same as my local McDonalds being a franchise run by its manager, sure he is running it and head office have little to do with day to day running but ultimately it is the parent company that is responsible for product quality.
That's not how it works. By your narrow definition Lucasfilm being "Disney" would also be responsible for the Theme Parks, Cruise ships, Disney+ etc, etc. Lucasfilm is a division of Disney yes, but Disney has nothing to do with the product Lucasfilms makes other than some 50,000 feet overhead guidance. They DO NOT have anything to do with what props are used when and in what order, that is some in some weeds grunt work that is all Lucasfilms.

*Manifests through a cloud of smoke*

….Yes ‘tis I, Rama, back from an extended stay in the Phantom Zone, thusly consigned for my many and flagrant crimes. Ill-tempered Kryptonians, various galactic dreck, Metahuman criminals by the score and myself were there, along with such forum un-Luminaries as The Infamous Ducky and Malgus the Unavoidable, these last two bound in the unbreakable chains of PermaBan and extremely irritable about it, too. It was like an intergalactic version of the Harmony Hut from "Addams Family Values," only they had the good graces to refrain from “The Brady Bunch” reruns. These Kryptonians are people of true culture, it cannot be denied.

Onward.

Mandalorian episode 3, aka The Himbo Chronicles: the main emotion I came out of that with was: I would like Dr. Pershing’s trenchcoat now, please. I would wear that thing all day.

I don’t find Dr. Pershing uninteresting, just not in a Mandalorian show. He has nothing to do with anything going on here, except for his true purpose of tying this show in with the Sequel Trilogy. I am unamused by this prospect. I am here to watch Mandos doing Mando things and saying “This is the Way” at least five times per half-hour. I do not give a rodent’s hind end about Snoke. I never will. And I don’t much care about Gideon, whom we have yet to see this season and who has all the depth of a lifesize cardboard standee anyways. Din should have beheaded him with the Darksaber.

I find Dr. Pershing’s glasses super distracting. They’re too real-world.

I see that the New Republic is just like the Empire! Mindwiping and torturing people. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss eh?

Thank the Maker for Bo-Katan, the only truly interesting Mandalorian person we have seen so far this season.

Din Djarin: re-justifying the title Himbo each and erry week. Who the hell bathes in the sacred waters fully clothed, I mean really. I can just imagine what goes through Bo’s brain, she is over there thinking My -gods- this guy is a dingbat.

Verdict: Episode 3 - 2 stars out of 5. Can Mando be in his own show? Please?

TBB “Pabu” - 2.5 stars.

p.s. Zod and Faora say Hi.

Mandalorian Episode 4, aka The Himbo Chronicles or GoT v2.0: Okay, here we got some Mandos doing Mando things, fair enough.

My main concern here is, who exactly is Ragnar’s mother…? Is it the Armorer?! Who?!! Dammit, WHO!!! Its not my business and I am dying of curiosity.

Dragons, okay whatever. You Mandos should have cleared out this nest ages ago. Lookouts are also needed if huge creatures are routinely swooping down and carrying people off. I expect more proactive defense from people who have spent the last 10,000 years fighting off everyone and everything.

LIVE ACTION CLONES: I will watch them all day. Show me them. They are delightful.

Tatooine did not make an appearance, I’m down with it.

Grogu armor, LOL. Grogu is still ADORABLE, as Jedibear? says. He is. And that is about all he offers plotwise. The chestplate is cute tho. Just like Grogu.

We are halfway through this show, and although I am still watching I have to admit – TBB is blowing this away, even with all its distractions and filler episodes. In a way, its like everything that has happened in the Mando show thus far is filler. Every single thing. We’re not really moving toward a coherent goal. Instead of Din working toward redemption through this season, we got that done in five minutes and now what? Its not at all clear.

Verdict: Mando episode 4 - 3 out of 5 stars. Really not impressed. I want to love this, yet I don't.

TBB “Tipping Point” - 5 out of 5 stars.

It was like watching two Humpback whales being crammed into a Klingon assault ship in Star Trek 5, only that movie was great.

What are they even going to do with the three chicks anyways? Would they not be a HUGE hassle to feed? Bo should have told them, there is no way you are putting those things on my ship EVER. Get right out of here with that idea.

Wait don’t Mandalorians ride beasts?

Might as well have the kids raise one and learn how to ride.

What culture doesn’t keep animals?

Why are fans flipping out over things that actually make sense within the context of their culture.

Mandos + Beasts = Learn more about them, train them, control them. Be better prepared for when they attack! Use them as weapons!

They take in foundlings right?

Grogu is being trained, right.

Now dragons are being trained.

Makes Sense ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

All cultures do keep animals, but these would be hugely expensive to keep, even if the "expense" would be the amount of hunting needed to provide that amount of meat. And three of them! Agree that there is nothing more SW than huge intractable beasts, but yikes.
