Finally a great thread! lol

But what have you brought upon ourselves?

btw We signed Weiman as our goalie. He had 8 shutouts and was a game above .500 on a sub .500 team. I can't say enough how happy I am about that signing. Or the picks up of Joel Perrault and Jeff Tambellini! They should help our scoring problems from last year. I mean, Marco Rosa as the top scorer? Bah! At best he's a 2nd liner. Now I just hope that Mike Keane signs with the team. Guy still has gas left in his tank if you can believe that.

Manitoba was owned by the Bears last year. :lecture:rock

Not anymore! We signed Perrault and Tambellini. We have scoring again and guess what? You don't have your superstud Giroux anymore! Times are a changin'... it's time for the Moose to claim what is their's... the Calder Cup babeh! :nana:

Manitoba? Hershey? The Calder Cup is coming back to Portland for first time in 17 years next year.

You know of Tyler Ennis?! WOW! You do know your hockey! He's only the front runner (in my eyes) for the Calder Trophy! Lets see. He's a mature prospect at what will soon be the age of 21. He already has a pro year under his belt and has won a Rookie of the Year honors in that league (the AHL), and will most likely resume where he left off, as the Sabres top forward like he was in last Spring's playoffs, and playing between Derek Roy and Jason Pominville.

Now on a sad note folks, today I found out that the Manitoba Moose have released 20-plus pro veteran and 3 time Stanley Cup Champion Mike Keane after 5 solid years as the team's captain. He was coming off his most productive year numbers wise (31 points) and was basically told that his services were no longer required. :dunno :slap

He blocked shots, fought with the best of them (I mean he actually took guys down much bigger and younger than him in fights) still into his 40's despite having millions in his piggy bank. Which clearly showed he was playing for the love of the game, not the money. He was a leader on and off the ice and was one of our top scorers. I don't get this move at all by GM Craig Heisinger. :gah:

3 cups in the last 5 years and 11 total. :lecture

No other AHL team compares to Hershey. Bottom line and end of discussion.
