Pink Flamingos is up there. Time Bandits isn't particularly rough overall. In fact, it's meant for kids. But as a kid watching it, I was incredibly disturbed by the ending. Same thing for Labyrinth (the guys taking their heads off), Return to Oz, Dark Crystal. . .

In terms of horror movies, Jacob's Ladder is disturbing as hell.

Batman & Robin 1997

I'm guessing that, based on his choices, toycrypt started this to discuss the most extreme manner of movie, those with excessive violence and taboo themes and such. But you make a great point about the context of what disturbing can be.
My dad took me to see Time Bandits, and I'm with you, it left me feeling pretty cold at that age. I still remember the previews making it look like a silly romp through time that any boy would love. But it was pretty grim stuff. Definitely left an impression for life. :lol

We can discuss what disturbs everyone. Yes my list is taboo stuff because thats what disturbs me.

For disturbing, I've seen nothing more nightmare inducing, haunt you when you try to sleep than these films.

1) Taxi To The Darkside
2) Martyrs
3) Old Boy (original, of course)
4) Audition
5) Clockwork Orange

Now the first one technically isn't a horror film but it absolutely deserves to be on that list.

Robocop 1987. The scene when Murphy gets shot and killed was tough to watch. Almost every scene is tough to watch :lol Robocop shooting a guy between the legs, ed 209 malfunctioning and killing some dude, the guy that melts at the end, Murphy getting turned into a robot by some company and having no control over the situation....the whole film is disturbing.

Yeah, it was hard to watch, when I was seven years old. :lol

The first Human Centipede is actually not that bad---most of the film is about them trying to escape instead of the centipede stuff. Haven't seen the second one, won't ever either

I don't typically watch horror movies, especially the newer ones, so I'll have to go with movies that upset me or bothered me the most and I'll have to go with Saving Private Ryan. I sobbed in the movie theater bathroom after that one. And I won't watch it again.

Marley and me
by far hands down the most disturbing "movie" I have ever seen.

probably Cannibal Holocaust or Requiem for a Dream. the end of Requiem disturbs me more than anything i've ever seen in a movie.

Not only will I never watch a Human Centipede movie I honestly wish that people wouldn't even start threads about them or talk about them at all. Just a personal preference as I find the entire premise vomit inducing. Not in a metaphorical "moral high ground" kind of way, but literal, physical gag inducing. Its the one movie I've ever heard about that can actually trigger a gag reflex just based on the premise. I can't imagine actually watching one of them.

I felt the same way until someone sat me down and made me watch the first one. Honestly it's surprisingly boring and pedestrian.

The second, I can't remember how or why I came to watch it, but it was a thoroughly miserable experience. A grimy, low-budget affair set largely in a London lock-up garage and crafted with less skill, verve and imagination than the average film school coursework project. It was terrible to watch not because of the premise, but because of how appallingly misguided it was in conception and execution. The cherry on top?

Anyway, most disturbing film? Here's my pick.
