AVP-R was a good movie, Take the bad directing, lighting, Acting etc out of it and it was a pretty good movie,

Wolf, Predalien, Aliens running around killing people, Humans getting owned, and it was a good idea (story) just stuffed up by newbie directors

Crap movie, crap actors who dont even deserve
to be filmed along side two great iconic creatures.
I'm a big fan of aliens and preds and when I first watched this movie
I was disapointed & in denial. This movie is now in the crap heap along with Land of the dead, I got over it and moved on.

i agree, but i still liked it,

Take the Acting and all that out of it and it was cool, wolf was kick a$$, Aliens were... aliens, and Predalien was Bad A$$ to

The aliens werent Aliens. Period. Say what you will about the Wolf, and the Predalien, but the Aliens werent true to their character at all.

the acting and all that is what makes a good movie
you cant just throw in a couple of your favourite creatures and hope for the best.
Yeh Wolf looked sick but he stared in a crap film.

The ideas behind almost everything were great - except the teen drama stuff, which didn't last long, but it sure felt long -, but the execution of these ideas SUCKED SO MUCH, it's a movie that's painful to see. That's what you get with a hack writer and first time directors though.

It could have been so much more than what we ended up, had so much potential.

For me it is 50/50, it looks (doesn't feel) like the originals from the surface - nostalgia kicks in -when you see certain scenes, but hated that the acting sucked, that the dialogue sucked, that the fights sucked. I prefer AvP-R over AvP though, AvP doesn't look nor feel like the originals in my opinion.

I just hope someday we get a Nolan to revitalize the AvP franchise.

i try to think of it more as a story not so much a "movie"
i take what i liked and ignored the rest,

the acting licked A$$ i know, the lighting was dark, it wasnt the most accurate folling from other movies, but again, take these things out and i was cool,

if you could Edit these things out of the movie and string t together with some imagination it would be a good movies even to those who didnt like it

It was fun to watch. But it felt like they were trying to rely on past references too much. The bongo sounds, the things people say. When the guy told his brother to "get to the chopper" it really killed it for me. But the effects were great. I loved the designs of the aliens, the predalien, and wolf of course. Loved how chet would impregnate pregnant women little hatch of chestbursters (or in this case stomachbursters) would just pop out of their wombs. Awesome! And killing the teens that talked too much was really fun too.

it was one of those "could have been better" movies...but remember, its the "sequal" to one of the worst travasties in both franchises historys', so it had ALOT to make up for.

All in all, it was a good movie, it went back to its "roots" so to speak with both the Pred and Alien franchises getting a good representation after the cake-walk Anderson gave them. I still think the man should be shot if he ever attempts to go near a film set EVER again, but thats probebly just my personal feelings towards the HACK who ruined what could have been a great monster-mash by making it a PG-13! (12A in the UK...wtf is up with that?!)

Yes the Aliens looked great, it was nice to see the Winston-esc Aliens once again, and the Pred-Alien and "Wolf" Predator looked great...but its personal feelings once again that i'd liked to have seen the Winston FX House take back the Predator, i have never really liked the ADI Predators...could be because i'm a Winston fan...or maybe its because they just dont feel "real" to me.


As for the acting...seen better acting on Eastenders...but meh...tis always fun to watch the meatbags die!

AvP:R was entertaining enough but...

Things I didn't like: the 'small town' setting, any scenes involving humans (except when they're being killed!), dark lighting and the non-explantion of the PredAliens breeding method and how the Aliens got to full size so quickly. Also, they should've brought Lex back... or Arnie! or Glover!

Things I did like: although I wasn't too keen on the 'small town' setting it did feel like P1 at times with all the trees n stuff, the sound effects of the Pred heat vision and plasma caster were taken from the older movies which I prefer, Wolf pred is one bad mer-the-fur-car.. but can we get a film where the Pred doesn't die in the end? Arnie killing the Pred in P1 is allowed tho cos Arnie rocks

The cast was horrible, the aliens were horrible (i feel like they were afraid of guns, so they hide (rooftop battle...) ) they were slow, they look like guys in suits. The predalien reproduction method was lame.

Anyways...im a fan of both species, but the only good thing about this movie was Wolf. He looked like a Predator, not like a fat, slow, AVP "Predator". I´ll go 50/50 with this one. The fight scenes were cool, a lill dark but cool. Another good thing was Hot Toys making such badass figures
