I am looking fwd to this one. I like COD4, but didn't care for WAW much. I like the more modern weapons and such.

depends on your local game shop if they usually got lots of stock then don't preorder but i would wanna walk in on release day to see them all sold out

you still have Target, Wallmart, and other stores that sell games.

dunno i think infinity ward has went a little too far here:

it seems on one level you play as a terrorist and shoot civilians in an airport

....and with that read, i now go into media black out mode to avoid more spoilers

What is the main differences other than the campaign of this and the first one? Sorry there are way to many pages of jibberish to look through.

Really?? I hadn't heard that news.

It's a nice idea to play both sides, but it's very inappropriate for a Call of Duty game.

meh i'm okay with it. in the end it's a game and if you play GTA or anything similar you'll end up doing some pretty terrible things but what makes it 'fun' is that you know it's simulated. COD are war games and there's no reason to really put on the kid gloves when it comes to that kind of stuff, it's just reality. i'd like to have them balance the terrorist aspect out by forcing the soldiers into morally ambiguous or outright frightening situations, i.e. ordered to raid family homes, etc.

Spoiler mode is strictly discussing this recent leaked footage:

I consider video games to be an art form... that said, I cannot believe the studio green-lighted this mission, or sequence, or whatever you want to call it. I am almost compelled to cancel my pre-order, after having watched the footage.

Yes, you can kill innocent bystanders in other video games. But never, that I can recall, has a studio ever put the player in the role of a terrorist tasked with killing a mass of unarmed civilians. The COD franchise took a bold step when they left a settled, old war and took to mirroring the real-world fight on terrorism - but this is absolutely beyond "edgy" - it is in absolute bad taste.

I bet somebody gets fired over this.

I love people over-reacting to this.

No one cares that IW nuked the ^^^^ out of the Marines in the first game, but omg a game where people die NO WAI THAT'S NEVER HAPPENED IN A GRAND THEFT AUTO GAME OR ANYTHING.

I agree with you, but it won't bother me too much. Who knows what they were thinking. As long as its a short mission I'm fine with it. I want to play as Soap!!!

I have the collector's/limited edition XBOX 360 w/ 250 GB console and two (2) of the collector's/limited edition version of the game with the night vision goggles on pre-order (one to open to display and play and one to keep as is). I'll skip the midnight opening, but take the day off work on release day.

Believe it or not . . . I'm looking forward to CoD: MW2 more so than I did HALO: ODST and HALO WARS this year.

hmm i wonder what the fallout will be from this. i can imagine the media having a field day with this. yet another story to detract from moral outrage that might actually be useful, i.e. directed towards real death, you know, genocide, proxy wars, civilians killed by both 'terrorists' and legal armies, the real stuff.
