...Parker Posey is to Valerie Perrine? I seriously doubt that...Posey couldn't fill Perrine's...well, you figure it out.

Well, techically you can't make that judgement since Valerie played Miss Teschmacher, and Parker Posey plays a woman named Kitty Koslowski. She's a big ol' polock, just like me.:duh

I'm going to see it at the IMAX theater on Wednesday night. My friend was on the post-production crew and says that it will be best in IMAX (I guess there's some parts that have 3D?).

I also heard that some scenes will be in 3D. How does that work? Do you have to keep those glasses on the whole time? How do you know when a 3D scene is coming up if you take the glasses off?

The closest IMAX to me closed its doors a while ago... :sick

I have no clue - I'll let you know on Wednesday night :)

Re: The Official "I Saw Superman Returns" Thread

Supposedly a little "S" shield will flash when you're supposed to put the glasses on. That's why I'll see it in IMAX 3D AFTER I see it in a regular theatre. All the reviews have been out of this world, so I'm sure I'll be seeing it a few times this summer.

I love PotC, but Superman and I go too far back for Cap'n Jack ever to take his place in my heart.

pjam, aren't you forgetting a little film from last summer called REVENGE OF THE SITH!!!

:monkey5

No, but overall it was one of the worst years for Hollywood and those 2 films epitomize what went wrong...

..Yeah, I hear ya. I was only joking about forgetting the ROTS thing. Besides ROTS, I can't seem to think of any realy good summer movies last year. War of Ther Worlds was OK...However, This year we've already had X3, with Superman Returns and POTC : DMC still on the way...

Plus we also got Nacho Libre...

:D

Re: The Official "I Saw Superman Returns" Thread

Yeah, this summer has been pretty exciting for movies.... X3 was great and now we still have Superman and POTC to look forward to. As well as Clerks II and a few others that just might be cool.... :D

i don't get the public's fascination with the POTC films. sure the first one was entertaining, but ultimately forgetable. for the new one to be so greatly anticipated is a little confusing to me.

nope.:rotfl

johnny depp is great, and the first movie was a quality film, but i think 20 years from now, POTC will be an afterthought, and superman will still be going strong.

Re: The Official "I Saw Superman Returns" Thread

I just finished watching the 1978 Superman. I am sooooo ready for Wednesday.

You're probably right, but its an unfair comparison. I mean Superman is Americana... POTC is just Disneyana.

But I'd still rather be a pirate.

Yes Pirates are fun and POTC DMC will be huuuuuuuge, and it was confirmed Keith Richards will be in POTC3 but...

I've been waiting a looooooooooong time for Superman

Re: The Official "I Saw Superman Returns" Thread

Do Underoos count?

Re: The Official "I Saw Superman Returns" Thread

I just watched the original too. Man there was some horrible dialogue in that movie, Margot Kidder is such a skank and the plot is laughable.

But Chris Reeve appears on screen and everything bad is forgotten.

As for PotC - Depp is so watchable and the movie is more fun than the ride ever was. The first one is probably the most fun I'd had in a movie theatre in a long time.

The whole "Can you read my mind?" part was cringe inducing. But yeah, when Christopher Reeve is on screen it's the best. It also made me feel a little sad too.
