You know what.... That's not bad at all! I'd take the neck off though. I've gotta say, I'm pretty tempted and very impressed for an Ada sculpt. I wish there was a FULL body shop so I could gauge the scale better. Nice find!

I was coming on here to post that Hugo link, I just got an email from Ada about it. It really isn't bad, one of her better jobs. I may just get it while I'm waiting for the better one. If nothing else it will help with sorting out the body.

It's not half bad and I found a 1/6th guitar and case a while back.

One word of advice though, regarding Ada, never buy the heads with a body. She uses the worst bodies ever. Sorry, Ada, but it's true.

I don´t like her heads, I bought her Locke and Jack and couldn´t use them because the heads were a bit too small for the bodies I had. I also found them kinda "rough" and the likeness is always off from one or more angles. Not buying anything else from her anymore, I´ll rather save my money and wait for a better Hurley.

Even after reading your comments I'm still seriously thinking about picking it up. I honestly think that if we were shown the sculpt without Ada's name attached we'd all be reacting just a little differently.
Like I said, you dremel off that little bit of extra neck (ironic) and I think it'll work out wonderfully. The only worry I have is the scale track record.

That might be what I find strange, yeah, thanks for pointing it out, I think you´re right.
That and the hair, I´m used to the longer one already even though it was shorter in the beginning.
I also think he might not be fat enough on that headsculpt. I dunno, or maybe looks younger? not sure but there´s something I don´t like, and I´d think the same if you hadn´t said it´s Ada´s work.

How far off do you think your Hurley is Andy? Any guesses? Months I'd imagine?

I'm going to 'sleep' on the Ada Hurley for a couple days. It's not the $25 for the sculpt I'm worried about. It's the whole getting it painted ordeal.... Decisions, decisions.

It really looks like a nice head to paint, that's what's really drawing me to it.

I think you made a very interesting point earlier about how everyone would react to this without Ada's name on it. I don't hate Ada's work. I think her Ben was pretty good. Buying her stuff can just be a bit a crap shoot with size is all.

I can only speak for myself, but if this was offered up by any of the sculptors on the board I'd be all over it. Do I think it's perfect? No. It would be nice if there was a little more personality and I think the face overall is a smidge too long. But the likeness is there. It's better than any other of her LOST sculpt. The ONLY thing that's stopping me at this point is the sizing track record.

Got the TTL 3.0 bodies today beeshaw,pretty nice allthough the HT True Types have wider shoulders which seems better imo,but once i get a 1/6 shirt for Sawyer i will try on both TT and TTL and see which one looks better.

I dont know what I see in that Hurley dude! I've showed it to 4 other people who are LOST fans and they all think I'm nuts too. So there's obviously something off with it. I just don't see it (as much as everyone else I guess)!

So I'll hold off. I'm sure I'd end up kicking myself for grabbing it anyways once I saw the Dashopkinsfan one.

I got my 2 TTL 3.0's today too! I'll take a pic later of my Desmond gear on one, and get to work on Hurlyfying the other.

Well Ben has been in the works for probably over a year (it's been just about a year since he was announced)... A few months isn't going to killer.

So here's where Hurley and Desmond stand.

Hurley so far is a TTL 3.0 that I will make a fat suit for. I picked up some stuff tonight and am hoping to at least start it over the weekend. I'll be sure to take some progress shots, and if what's in my head translates well I might even make a few to offer. We'll see though.

Shoes are PMC Tactical (Brown) I picked up from Store-Rooms and the socks are Saturday toys (they came with the Jumpsuit I bought for Juliet). The shirt is a 'Big Boy' shirt that will most likely need to be modified to be a 'Huge Boy' shirt. But I think it's a decent start. If I could only find reasonably priced cargo shorts...

Desmond = TTL 3.0 with the Hot Toys Wolverine Shirt and Jeans and the boots that came with the Saturday Toys jumpsuit.

You know I'm just not sure about that TTL 3.0, my Sawyer started off on one of those but it just wasn't quite right. I switched to a Soldier Story body and he looked way better, the head had more movement and he was able to look down better.

Truth be told Itchy, I bought my first one for Sawyer and, well... still waiting on gdb to get get it, paint it and send up back up here. So I haven't done a FULL custom on one yet. I hope I'm happy with it when all is said and done. For the price (I paid $14.99 each) it really can't be beat. The 2 I just bought would have cost me the same, shipping included, as a True Type at retail prices and no shipping.

About the neck articulation... do you think it could be modded to give it more range?

I was looking at the Soldier Story bodies a while, but it was crazy how off the colour was between the chest and the rest of it. Plus it was hard to find one with the feet and hands and pegs included... just too much of a head ache really.
