So, In January or February, I called up Sideshow and closed my account with them. I had to have them cancel like 30 ordes for figures. Everything from 9 Stormtroopers to Darth Vader (I am glad I will never know who benefitted on the waitlist from my cancellation of the exclusive and the regular of THAT one, I would be too bitter), all 3 Iron Man figures, all the Joes, Indiana Jones, Aliens, Predators and some others.

Won't go into the "why" details. But it had nothing to do with money.

Anyway...I continue to collect through the posts on this website. And I will tell you all something.

After being cold turkey for 4 months or more, reading the continued complaints about likenesses and loose joints leaves me feeling even more strongly than ever about how trivial those complaints are to me.

Yeah, but small cod pieces are as relevant as ever.

I almost in your club. I have bought 3 pieces this year. Thats it. I am also affraid I won't be able buy any of the comic con exclusives this year either. :monkey2 Oh well, life goes on I guess.

I'm a little confused...you liked the figures a lot, yet cancelled it all, you don't like the trivial complaints here, but continue to live vicariously through the people here that complain. Interesting.

Oh. Please believe me. I see the contradiction in my own post.

I rarely purchase anything these days. But I'm still a happy lil' camper. :D

And... makes what I do buy all the more meaningful.

I must say my wallet quite enjoys seeing very little from Sideshow these days that interests me at all ... :monkey1

I can help you out with your problem. Since money is not an issue, feel free to buy stuff for me! I'm not picky. If it's Sideshow, it's good by me. :monkey3 :rotfl

Hmmm...gonna mull this over in my head for a few minutes.

OK, not really. Although I will be trying to find a way to get around my roadblock and get back to buying (I quit buying [read - acquiring new figures]...not collecting).

I'm still playing catch up in alot of ways, so my wallet has been hit hard lately and will be in May and June big time. After that it will be smooth sailing for awhile unless HT comes out with some amazing things. I'm just so glad I don't collect Star Wars because I'd be in big trouble then. :lol

Due to my financial strapdowns, I also have limited my collecting but at least it makes me cherish what I do have. It also makes me feel good that I have a few nice gems that I know I will never part with.

To keep my collection updated, trading is the way to go without spending money.

I'm failing to see the "pain" in the Original post. It seems like you feel you are better off for it.

Personally I think collecting goes in ebbs and flows. Sometimes you go nuts and sometimes you drop off the grid. Last year at this time I had two pages worth of SSC orders. At present date I have 9 things on order. Just the natural flow of things.

I have several things on pre-order...but seriously do not know if I will keep them....I LOVE where my collection is right now...and I have no space for anything new...meaning something will either need to be boxed up, or will have to go. My collection feels complete...which is why I'm thinking I'll probably just stick with what I have now and cancel the others.....as cool as some of those PF's are...I don't feel like I NEED them which makes it easier for me to hit the cancel button.

Tumbler, Ironman mkI & mkII, HT Predator, Dutch, Medi Anakin and Han in Carbonite..These 7 things, my collection is complete and i'm more or less done with this game
