I went to HMV the other day and was told that The Running Man on DVD had been discontinued since 2004???? WTF? Why does a great movie like the Running Man get discontinued?

Now before you say so they can come out with a special edition or something along those lines, its been like 4 years!

Anyone have any info on this?

That movie was horrible. It doesn't suprise me one bit. Let me clarify though. I loved the movie. Most non nerds don't know what that movie even is. My favorite line. "Look at him Sub-Zero! Now just plain zero!" :rotfl

:lol:lol:lol:lol Yes I agree with you, everytime I see that part I think to myself.............pause, edit, erased! :lol

Seriously though you can't tell me its not one of the most creative ideas for a cheap action flick? I love the damn movie, it has probably like the BEST Arnie one-liners in a single movie! You could almost call it the "Best Of Arnold One-Liners"

:D

You are right. What about: "Hey you Christmazz tree Ova heeare!" :rotfl

I loved the movie! It rocked. I just wouldn't put it up for an Oscar. :rotfl

The video store I work for just bought this movie, at Best Buy I believe. It may be discontinued, but they must have warehouses full.... btw, it was a special edition. So maybe it was recently released.

"Where is Buzz Saw"? "He had to split" :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

See what i'm saying? Not an Oscar but one hell of an entertaining piece dammit! :D

i have the special edition. it's awesome. there is a great documentary on the dvd, talking about the use of reality tv and how ground breaking the movie was when it came out considering where television is at now.

granted it was based on a stephen king novel (which was awesome).

loved it!!!

WHAT! Stephen King? Man that S.O.B. has written some amazing things! Who would think The Shawshank Redemption (Best movie ever IMO) was written buy him?

Wow!

Yes. It was a portent of things to come. Ahead of it's time in fact. I can easily see this type of show becoming reality in the next 15 years or so. Especially considering how voyeuristic and gladiatorial society is becoming.

I loved Smash TV... that was a fun game. And very similar to this idea. What system was that on? Sega maybe?

Come on, the movie was fun. Plus it had a great comback for Arnolds most famous line.

Richards "I'll be back"

Killian "Only in a rerun"

:rotfl

king also wrote green mile don't forget.

AND THE SHINING!!! One of my fav films and a great book, but they were like brushing your teeth and drinking OJ--worlds apart. Kinda like Bladerunner and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

And King did Silver Bullet! The Busey/Haim one-two punch!!!
And Children of the Corn...and Pet Cemetery.
