It's too bad this line didn't continue.
The prelim for the Thor looked very promising.

That's pretty cool. Some of the Bowen bronze pieces I like, but most don't really appeal to me.

One thing I don't get though, why does the bronze have color to it? Shouldn't the entire thing be bronze in color?

I completely agree with you, it is too bad this line did not continue. The 1/5 scale bronze is an excellent size for display, and would have loved to see the original Marvel and DC characters done, the major ones, not all.

Congrats on your piece RS! The one I have is more red, but I also noticed that depending how much light is put on these bronzes intensifies the color. Are the pics reflective of the red or is it the lighting?

Here is my self indulging thread link for pics of mine. I would say it is just a tiny bit less red than you see in the pics, but just barely.

One of the details I really like about this piece is the Spidey's Bronze eyes: Excellent place to leave that as bronze IMO.

Thank you sir! I appreciate it.
Yours is definitely one of the more red Spidey bronzes that I've seen. I'll post pics of mine shortly as a comparison.

I think lighting plays a role. However, I've certainly seen some pieces look more "red" than others over the years. Maybe it's the camera too? The contrast feature in photoshop?

Look forward to it fellow BM.

RS, so I played around with lighting with mine. The red does change depending on what lighting you have on it. In my family room the red is way less intense, then in my study which has clear white cool halogens on it. When I put the warm/yellow halogen bulbs, the red is more intense then the family room lighting, but not near as intense with the cool white halogen.

Big difference.

As for the photoshop contrast feature, and the atuo levels, yes, this can make a difference along with the camera lens with the lighting, I guess it depends on the user how far it goes.

With my pics, there is only a minor sharpening used, plus the occasional atuo levels, or exposure levels. I would say my pics of the spidey bronze are no more than 5% more red than in real view of the Spidey under the intense cool white halogen lights. Those cool white halogens bring out the colors.

I suppose I'm more partial to the more modern Spidey. But I just dig the museum poses much more. Something timeless, epic, more stoic about them.

Hard to argue the museum pose, SK. It is more epic, especially with the more modern characters that have incredible detail to them. The museum pose with that kind of detail speaks volumes.

I guess that's why SS did the IM 1:2 scale in museum; simple, yet powerful and stoic.

Out of every Spidey statue yet produced, I think this is far and away the most impressive, nailing the Lee/Ditko look.

What a beauty.

To those who may not be aware, this sculpture is based on Steve Ditko's interpretation of Spiderman. Ditko, the original artist on Spiderman back in the early 60s, is known for his unique artistic perspective of human anatomy. The 'off proportion' elements in this piece, for example, are indicative of the artist's style and are intentional in design. Personally, I think it's what ultimately gave Ditko's artwork such tremendous charm.
