okay, finally got the outfit for my zombie janitor today. he is still a wip.......there is much blood to add..........muwahahahaha....& plan on adding a bloody bucket and weather the outfit some more. i named him....ZED.......who is zed?.....zed's dead baby !!!!!!!!View attachment 4207

Thanks for the compliment, DK!

I used a Sideshow body, of course! :D The neck post worked perfectly after I used the Dremel to get more room. I glued the head to the post and then filled in the neck with Fimo.

As for the clothes, I decided to go with a more casual look since I already have enough "professional" looking zombies.

I have to agree with p!tu, this figure is an excellent substitute for the Patient Zero figure.

Hmmm, ok, Guess I should get my hands on a sideshow body then. SOmething makes me want to see this guy one armed... since you can't match the hands... I think it would look so neat to have it one armed instead.

I like the casual... guy next door look...

But is it me ... or could this even be a DIrty Harry zombie ?

Well I just got an X-files Frank Black on second chance and I'm going to use him for my custom zombie. The figure is now wait listed again. I fell bad taking apart such a nice figure, but I think it's going to make a killer zombie...plus it has a lot of nice accessories. :rock :rock :rock
Plus I found this little tidbit about Frank most fitting and kinda put the nail in coffin for me to make him my custom figure.

In the X-Files episode 'Millennium,' Frank Black helps Mulder and Scully stop a madman from releasing his four 'Zombies' (aka his 'Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse) on New Years Eve 1999.

:rotfl I thought I was the only one that saw the Clint resemblance!

I almost made my custom one armed, too!

Don't feel so bad. I took my Frank Black apart and used him for another zombie that I made.

Hey barryo, what did you do for the neck?

i just dremeled the neck out a bit to fit a dragon neck post. i dint even glue it.....i had the fig by my side and basically whittled it down and kept trying to fit it until it did. (easier to pop the head off if i ever want to change it) im gonna try to finish all the blood/weathering this weekend but i'm slammed with major christmas decorating, parties, and basically a lot of honey do's.

:lol :lol :lol :lol

Thats great!!

Frank Black.... Nice

I was thinking of using either a Giles or Xander since both are on the Gift card list and would be basically free... just shipping...

What do you guys think ?

I almost went with Xander instead of Frank Black. I think Giles would make a great zombie..though I think I like Xander's clothes better. Giles has better accessories though, imo. Actually if you really weathered and tore up Giles' clothes they could be pretty cool. :)

Darn! I was going to buy one for a custom Bishop. :lol

I know what you mean Jen, that is my dilema... I like Xander's clothes too. More guy next door... giles ends up being another Suit Zombie... Ya know ?

Giles is on sale now too so he would be cheaper... but is it worth it ... not sure...

If you had to pick one... tell me...

Go with Xander. :) I was going to do him because he was cheaper than Frank....but then decided I wanted the accessories, so I decided to pay more. I'm just not really liking Gile's suit....if customized properly it could look cool....but like you said, there's already a zombie with a suit (2 if you got the Spootacular version) so go with the boy next door who sadly while trying to help the damsel in distress realizes too late that she wasn't moaning out for help but actually wanted to take a nice bite from his neck. :D

I like the idea Jen. . . Or maybe the boyfriend who thinks his girl is moaning for someone else (LMAO), but finds out she's moaning for him... his brain that is... :rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

So for the clothes, what mix of paints should I use ? (Can you tell I'm a first timer). :monkey3

Well I've only done one....:lol so I'm far, far from an expert. :lol I've got a hollyberry red, a burgandy, browns, black, golden brown, yellow and blue.

With mine, I like a darker red, so I used burgandy with a little extra red and some brown. you could make the burgandy yourself with the red and blue. I also like to add a little yellow after it dries with an acrylic gloss to give it a more wet/infected/puslike look.

For the clothes I got them slightly damp and then got a damp papertowel that I then blotted with the paint and then blotted it on the clothes...then rubbed it in with another dry towel till I had the look I wanted. the lighter coat of paint then kinda bleeds into the cloth and then I reapply in areas where I want the blood darker. **The key for me was to make sure the papertowel and clothing area was very damp (not dripping wet though) when applying that first layer. If they are not damp enough you will get specs of dark paint that are then kinda hard to rub in and blend. Then when it dries I use a brush to do the final touches on the really bloody areas. DarkArtist suggested using an old toothbrush to make realistic blood spatter and that works like a charm too. It really is a lot of trial and error. :lol Or atleast it was for me....but lots of fun!!! What's nice with the acrylics, if you don't like it can you can wash/scrub it off and start again. :) Well not for the clothes, but with the figure itself anyway.

okay.....here's ZED.....a little bloodier but not for worst for wear...:D

Good job, barryo. Zed's dead, Baby...Zed's dead.

I use crimison and cadmium paints for blood. My fav is Liquitex Cadmium Red Hue and Alizarin Crimson Hue acrylic paint. Sometimes I add a dash of black, too. If you want the blood to look freshly spilled, pick up some high gloss varnish. Paint the high gloss varnish only on the blood. It'll make the blood look shiny and wet.
