I had trouble finding it and eventually bought Krylong triple-thick crystal clear glaze. I assume its the same thing, but I know when I was younger you could just buy little bottles of testors paint that were gloss coats.

Not only is your finished zombie impressive King, but so is your photography. Those pics are so sharp and clear. It makes is so much easier to see the little details you put into it. The blood work on the face is particularly impressive! Great job! :rock

This one is my favorite:

I know this isnt an ornament custom, but after I finished with mine I was feeling a little confident about my zombie painting skills :lol, so I painted up the doctor.

It has always annoyed me that his "blood" on his coat and shirt was pink and not very bloody looking. So heres my attempt at making him extra bloody. I went with just lots of red, not much black to darken the blood. I wanted this on looking "fresh" :lol.

yes !!!............nice improvement. did you go with a gloss finish or is it still drying?

Once again, fantastic King! The first shot is my favorite of the doc. Are you using DA's Toothbrush method to get the blood like that? If not, I'd love to know what your technique is.

this may be a question better posted in the customs but.........would a gloss coat actually act as a sealer as well? ive heard some of the pros here mention sealer and was wondering if it was one in the same or what?

Yup, toothbrush for the splatter affect.

I think I'll take the opportunity to blow my own trumpet, thanks King. I too will make a zombie come to life. I have the ornament. I have a crap body, no, not mine, but close. The one my Joker came with. I have the coveralls of a BBi GSG-9, and I have a tin of beetroot I haven't yet opened. I think it may be simple but delicious. I have taken inspiration from you and the gentleman who made the janitor zombie. I really like the way you distressed his pants and shirt. Any tips?

Any tips?

I dont think so:lol

Lets see if I can come up with something that sounds like I know wtf I'm talking about.

I used acrylic paint. For the blood I used "Lipstick Red" mixed with "Barn Red". It gives it a darker richer red. For darker "older" looking red I mixed in some black.

For the distressed pants/shirt I used "Burnt Umder" mixed with "Raw Sienna" and a touch of black.

And for the splatter I used a toothbrush.

It was fun Creech, you should give it shot just for the hell of it.

Ahh yes, medium of course. :lol Now for the fourth degree. How long now till you get your Takara Bats? :lol

:google Great job so far from everyone.

Chase, that looks great man. More blood the better :monkey5
