the only mowed lawns that I've seen in the walking dead are at Woodbury, they even had a Mexican cutting the grass lol.
everything I've seen has been overgrown

None of the nitpicks are in any way relevant to any part of the story they're telling. I'm sure it was a conscious decision to overlook certain small things like that, unless it somehow could work in as a specific plot device. But I know that if they aired 2 episode segments of Glenn getting a rotten tooth extracted, the "filler" outrage would be deafening. :lol
Otherwise, it's still just TV and they want to keep their stars somewhat appealing. If they all looked like the Duck Dynasty guys and smelled like the Swamp People, we'd have a cancelled series on our hands. :lol

Nutrition and oral health are pretty important when you're having a plague outbreak. If your immune system is **** because you've been eating pudding and rabbit for 2 years and haven't brushed your teeth, you're going to get sick all the time. All the time.

Eventually your immune system won't be able to recover and it will degenerate to you having disease. Heart disease is the number one killer of men. It would still be no.3 in the zombie apocalypse. (zombies, governors, heart disease) Poor oral health is a leading cause.

Honestly, I think the consumption of less and less processed foods would actually contribute to dental health. As far as brushing their teeth, I imagine that's done off screen, otherwise, they don't crap either and only Daryl pees. :lol

Yea but you don't need to go and search a house for something with an expiration date to go pee. They go to quite a bit of trouble to give you hints etc for surviving the zombie apocalypse. I don't think them dealing with those issues at least once is stupid.

You don't think it'd be fun to have a character who loses all his teeth and can't chew the food they bring him anymore? :lol Michonne could find him a pair of those old plastic count dracula teeth.

Not really. No more than I want to see someone with a torrential case of the ***** because they decided to ignore an expiration date. It might make for some decent comedy, but it seems out of place for TWD. :lol

I'll settle for unintended comedy like when Eugene's seat fell back and smacked Abraham in the face, waking him up. :lol

Its a show about a zombie apocalypse and people are complaining about dental care and grass mowing not being realistic? :)

The grass mowing has been brought up a few times in this thread. It is nit picking and like I said,

Sure, but none of that matters in this series, that should be more than clear by now. This series, much as I love it, doesn't care about reality. And for that I'm extremely grateful. :)

Seriously

I love how the knives and swords cut through skulls like butter....

The one and only thing that bothers me is why the fk is everyones teeth so white after 2+ years on the road? C'mon dirty them up a bit to make it a little more believable . They weather their clothes , hair , and no one shaves (Darryl can't even grow a beard , poor fella) LOL . Dirty the teeeeeeeef

You think they got the showers going at the prison but couldn't figure out how to pick up some toothpaste on one of their supply runs? :lol I get what you're saying, but when they were at the prison, they were pretty well off. The few episodes of them on the road, yeah they could use a little grime, but a few days without brushing wouldn't turn your teeth into yellow, rotting gingivitis mines.

Mowed lawns, health care, and weather are by no means deal breakers. We were talking about things we'd like to see improved or expanded on. We're five seasons in now, it's not unreasonable to want some new things, especially if we get a change in settings coming up. And when I say things like they could mention vitamins etc, it's not like I'm saying a whole story arch or episode. Just work it in to the general chatter once in a while to make things more realistic. They do deal with those sort of things once in a while like when they went on runs for medicines etc so it's by no means strange. In Band of Brothers, I think it was Hoobler who was always obsessed with brushing his teeth, it was kinda funny. Deadwood does a much better job conveying general survival and crude communities in similar situations of danger in the camps even from Indians and bandits when you venture out, not dissimilar from zombies and random gangs in this show. I just think as good as this show is, it can be a lot better.

Yeah, it really is a big deal if your teeth rot. You will get mouth soars, heart problems, constant pain and headaches. It can kill you. And if you manage to somehow get them pulled out(have fun with that and no drugs), well good luck chewing rabbits.

It's utterly meaningless to what TWD is on every level.
Want all you want, no one's stopping you. It's just never going to happen.

It's exactly what the WD is on every level. Survival. That's the entire show in one word. It's not "Zombies". The Governor and Hunters and other gangs are a way bigger threat. The show is staying alive, period. They have commercials where they come on and give tips in case of a real zombie apocalypse to set up fake camp sites and monitor them etc. :lol They put more thought into it than your willing to admit for whatever reason.

They went on medicine runs and dealt with a plague. Rick spoke with Shane about Winter and how it would affect the zombies. It's already happened a little.

You could even use an idea like malnutrition to make zombies way more threatening again. Maybe they wouldn't have such an easy time taking on 35 zombies at a time with just a hammer.

Never said it was about "zombies" now did I? That's assuming a lot on your part. I'm kinda smart like that, and have argued that very same point in this very same thread. Patronization not needed, but thanks. :)

The kind of survival you're talking about is the mundane crap we deal with daily. How boring would that be to have to watch with any regularity?
I also said that if it was germane to the plot at the time then sure, add it, and they have. Otherwise they seem to have made a pretty conscious effort to not allow the characters to get bogged down in such subject matter.

Weather would be fine to see, but they've managed to avoid that effectively by the periods during the years they've chosen to show on TV.

I already said you don't need to make it regular or a mundane thing. When they are traveling on the road, make malnutrition an issue. They are weak and can't just chop zombies in half or take down a dozen single handed with a small hand tool. It makes it so they have to run more and figure out more intelligent ways around conflict. And when they reach wherever they're going, they can get better from the benefits of a community.

Weather could be very cool, a flood could force them to find higher ground and then have to deal with zombies they can't see in 4 feet of water etc. It's just suggestions to keep things differant.

If you know the comics
the show is going to be alot of the same from here out. Get to a community because theres a wall and then a gang threatens the community. Farm had the fence and Shane. Prison had fences and Governor. Terminus has fences and cannibals. Next they have the safe zone with a wall and Negan. Even the Governor and Negan just have a place with a fence.
It's honestly already getting old. That particular formula. Frankly, its why I'm looking forward to this new spin-off.
