what's his reasoning? he cant write for Daryl on the comic and is afraid to let fans down? what's the deal? whats the problem with introducing him? too interestong and he will outshine the others?

I don't see any reason for them to put him in it. I don't know Kirkman's reasoning.

Kirkman said a long time ago that he wouldn't shoehorn Daryl in

To stop and put Daryl in would change that narrative.

Like an unneeded stop at McDonalds on a road trip.

David Chase tried to elongate The Sopranos for money even though he had a clear vision. We wound up with Gay Vito and a Season of Tony in a coma having meaningless dreams.

Giancarlo Esposito can be cast as Father Gabriel now. I always pictured him when reading the books (which was only last year admittedly). So now that he's free it could happen, right?

i remember people calling it the walking dead without the zombies

I gave up on it about 6 episodes into season 1. It wasn't even close to TWD without zombies. Basically it was just a world without power, so it that is post apocalyptic then I guess it was TWD without zombies. It wasn't that great, but because Gus was on it, I wanted to give it a try. So hopefully he comes back to AMC.
