Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Nice way to star the season. Not great but solid the ending though damn! I will say I hope the blond chick gets ate soon.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I've gotta say I was pretty underwhelmed. I loved the first season, but this episode seemed to be a step-down in terms of story and acting. Maybe if it wasn't spread out to a 90 minute premiere, but there seemed to be a lot of 'filler' in this episode. I understand they have to continue the character arcs but the stuff with Lori and Shane feels a little dragged on at this point. Some of the acting was downright bad I thought too, like Rick's opening 'monologue'. The scene in the bathroom with the walker was very cliched too.

I don't know how much of this was Darabont before he got canned, but I definitely am worried where the show is heading without him.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Didn't even feel like it's been a year. It was pretty seamless, personally. Right where they left off in all categories.

As for zombie noses...

...if you're walking around with them, in plain sight, they can tell you're not dead by your smell. Hiding under cars where they can't get any kind of bead on you, and nothing has drawn their attention to your location, I don't think smell would be enough.

WOW! What a kick off to Season 2!! I loved it!

Even though I knew what was going to happen at the end of the episode...it still took me by surprise! :panic:

Was that patient zero in the trailer?

Kinda looked like him and since Darabont is a collector maybe it was a homage?

What would you have liked to see or how would you have made it better? I ask because for me I thought it was top notch. Those first 20 minutes were incredibly tense. While watching the show, the tension level is always high because it seems something bad can happen at any second. Like the tent scene...you could say it was filler but only after the fact. While watching it, you don't know what is going to happen. Sophia could have been in there or a walker. All I know is I am so amped up after watching an episode that I can't fall asleep. :lol

I also wanted to mention that Dale is awesome, and Lori is hot, but 1000x hotter when she talks.

Dale is cool. I am more of an Andrea fan, but I am coming around on Lori (which is progress for me since I hated her character the first 2-3 episodes.) :lol I did like her speech to Carol about going easier on Rick or stepping up and doing it themselves. She was dead on because no one steps up so they don't have to share any of the burden of blame/guilt when something goes wrong.

What I love about this show is that nothing is black and white. It is countless different shades of gray. For example, the conversation between Andrea and Dale about him "saving" her from the CDC. When I watched the season finale last year, I could totally relate to Dale and his actions. I especially loved his line to her that, "you can't just enter someone's life, get them to care about you and then just check out." Real powerful stuff. Then last night when Andrea voiced her side, I could also relate to her anger and frustration at Dale because he did take her choice away from her about how to die. I always ask myself what would I do in a particular situation. In this case, I think I would still act similarly to what Dale did, but there is no clear cut "right" or "wrong" choice. It makes you question and re-evaluate your values, actions, etc. and helps you to broaden your perspective. IMO, this is a sign of a great show.

I'm gonna take a guess...

Sophia is at the house where they take Carl, in next week's preview.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Loved the premiere. The beginning was intense and the ending was crazy! Can't wait till next Sunday!

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

kinda thought it was a let down for a season debut.:dunno not much happened.

maybe it's that I'm still on the Breaking Bad high from last week.:monkey1
I felt the same way. It was enjoyable enough, and had a few great moments here or there (I personally really liked the part where they opened up that one zombie's stomach), but nothing that felt nearly as rewarding as your typical episode of Breaking Bad. But then, that's probably not a fair comparison.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I thought the episode was pretty awesome. I agree the first 20 minutes were great. The search for Sophia dragged a little but no big deal. I can't wait 'til next week........
and see how the show tackles Hershel's farm

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I am one of the few that found this ep lacking, from the looks of it. Dunno, it wasnt that intense to me. I will say the Sofia's mom actress is pretty amazing

My guess:

No, I think she and Carl are both going to die. The biggest problem TV shows that don't progess in time at the same rate as reality is that kids get too old too fast. Remember Walt on Lost? So they need to find a way to get rid of them or start clocking off the months pretty quickly. So the easiest thing to do will be have Carl die and never find Sophia, or else just find her remains.

There're so many sitcoms that've used the same child actors for years and years. At some point they'll have to do a time lapse. I know it's a television show and even Kirkman's said anything goes, but I honestly don't think they'll kill either. They'll likely use Carl to justify Hershall's farm for a few episodes while they look for Sophia and then get the series on the road again to wind up at the prison by Season's end.

While I think Carol will probably die by seasons end, I doubt they'll kill off Sofia, at least just yet. I agree with the poster above is she's probably at the Hershal farm. Another small possibility is she got caught by Merle who I have a hunch has been stalking the group. Speaking of Dixon, I wounder what happened to Daryl. In one of the previews it showed Rick and Shane carrying him while he's unconscious. I hope they don't kill him off this season.

I honestly cannot see them going that far away from the comics, at least with some of the major characters. I know they did it with Shane so far but I cannot see them killing off Carl.
