Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I'm still waiting to find out if it will be available on-line...

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I have no idea if those have been on-line.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Six initial episodes followed later by a 13 episode season which may or may not have been greenlit already. Here's hoping, because this looks great.

Season 2 (13 eps) has been greenlit, but it won't start shooting until this Spring, so it'll be next year.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Walking Dead is being shown at a theater here. I'll be trick or treating, so I'll miss it.

s'okay though trick or treating trumps everything else.

If any of you are in south eastern Wisconsin (all both of you), it's gonna be at The Majestic in Waukesha. Check Neptune comics' Facebook page for details.

"Another thing -- this show doesn't seem to be pulling any punches in the gore department. Just in these clips alone we saw zombies getting shot in the head, zombies getting their skulls smashed in, and zombies getting their faces gashed open." :)

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I fully expect explicit violence against zombies, but I suspect violence from zombies on humans will be tamed down a bit.

We probably wont see zombies pulling guts out of people. Just a guess.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

... and thats ok. In your face gore is not needed. IMO

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

No point.

I'm not familiar with the Walking Dead source material. Maybe the humans never get eaten in it. :dunno

Romero's movies are all about characters and their interactions to, but some of the human deaths are epic

They get eaten and attacked and it can be brutal but it is not the focal point like some of Romero's movies are. Yea they are about characters and such but he also likes to push the button with the gore and such a lot more.

executive producer Frank Darabont assured fans at Comic-Con that the gore on the show would be plenty enough to “satisfy hardcore zombie fans.”

Looking at the people involved, looking at Frank Darabont and (Producer) Gale Anne Hurd, instantly they bring a class and sophistication to this. Frank is so dedicated to be faithful to the graphic novel. He is just as much a fan of The Walking Dead as anybody else, so his whole goal is to stay faithful to the novel and give fans everything that they want. The key moments of the novel are being played out with absolute precision. And where it diverges (from the novel), Frank is such a brilliant director that it actually improves on the original material.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I'm not worried. I'm sure this is gonna be awesome! I actually hope they leave out human gut eating, as I have a number of friends that wouldn't watch that, and I wouldn't be able to share the experience with them.

Just finished watching the season finales of Rubicon and Mad Men and they had A LOT of promos for the show. I am sooo pumped right now.
