I've said it before but the current story would benefit from a Netflix style series, 8-10 episodes max in a season.

I feel like this season might actually be better in a Netflix format (ie binging). The week to week episodes is killing this season. I think if they were watched back to back the tension and excitement would be a bit more there. The confusing time jumps and unexplained war plan have really ruined this season so far. The pacing has been all over the place too with poor cliff hangers that don't pay off for weeks. If they were watched over the course of a day, they might play out better.

I really didn't think they could screw up a war storyline but they are sure doing a good job at doing just that. I think partially to blame is the budget. They really need the GoT type budget and production to handle this storyline and they've had to cut a lot of corners and put in a lot of filler. I'm doubtful of this war wrapping up next week. I was betting on an 8 episode war arc with a time jump at the mid season based on the SDCC trailer but its looking like a full season of war at this pace. Has even a full day passed yet? So far we've had about half a season dedicated to a single day with some minor flashbacks thrown in. Maybe Heath will finally come back because he think's he's still on 24? :lol

I think I read somewhere that the All out war storyline will end this season, so presume Negan bites it in the season finale, the last one not the mid-season finale.

I still have the last 2 episodes on my DVR. I just haven’t been motivated to watch them.

You're not missing much. Rick's side in all of this has been nothing but lucky after almost everyone is making the stupidest decisions ever. Gotta figure their luck will run out in a really dumb way only to get it back in the end to win the war.

so.....are we to take it the garbage people have a helicopter?

Figured they'd pick up with something on that last bit of the previous episode where Rick hears then sees a helicopter....

Yeah that'd make sense to follow that story line, but no....

Having watched a lot of soap operas in my teens and twenties, I'm used to this kind of pacing. I liked the show tonight, thought I was scratching my head at a couple things.

Oh god, if TWD is inspired by Days of Our Lives, it'll take 5 years for All Out War to end... :horror

If the Saviors had enough bullets to fire for that long why didn't they just kill the walkers in the first place.

What's with all the wishy washyness on Rick's crew??

I thought Rick and Garbage Girl were going to get it on.

It felt like that in the comic and hopefully won't have the same anti-climatic ending.

If it is anything like this season has been, I almost guarantee it will be. I used to avoid this thread completely until I was up to date on viewings but I just don't care anymore. It's 8 seasons, they've had a good run. Let's end it now....or at least get more creative writers or less episodes to a season so they're not constantly doing fillers.

I tapped out after season 5. And only pop in every now and again, just to see opinions on it. I was one of only a small handful of dissenting opinions in here back then, and now it seems those opinions are becoming the majority. I never wanted to not like the show, but that's what happened. Same goes for the comic, and funnily enough All Out War's ending is the reason I stopped reading it completely.

I will continue watching throughout the rest of this season, just so I don't feel my time was wasted by watching the previous ones. What is funny to me is that I think Negan and the Saviors are far more interesting characters and background than Rick and his motley crew. And Negan is more than likely gone by the end of this season. I feel the same about the Governor too. They should 180 this ***** and kill Rick and everyone and then make the show about Negan and the Saviors who end up coming up against other really awful people.

In previous jobs ive had to literally watch paint dry, so i agree. im used to this kind of pacing as well. Ive watched snail racing on youtube on my free time as well, so this season is actually pretty decent :lecture :goodpost:

I just feel like this show has been DRAGGING on this season. We didn't need a full episode focusing on Eugene and his decision. OMG.

I have to finish this show but I gave up on FTWD. The writing this season is not good.

I don't find the show boring. The show goes pretty fast and I do things during the commercials. I can understand why you guys find it so, but like I said, I'm used to the pacing.
