He wanted off the show, so they had to do something. Have a shocking story line isn't jumping the shark. If it were someone people wanted off the show they wouldn't say that.

As for the comic, it was said a long time ago that they would be getting away from it. Glad they are.

I'm almost at the point where I just hope Negan kills them all and lives happily ever after. This show is all over the place and leaves all logic behind. The big bite reveal....did nothing for me. I don't care who lives or dies on this show. How the hell could it get that bad?

I used to care about the characters, but it's tough to give a **** after watching season after season of the writers making them make stupid decisions. Every character on the show has made a horrible decision that should have killed them only to have the writers make some stupid scenario that saves them. I went from loving the show to not caring if I see it anymore. I can watch the first episode, mid-season finale, the first show after that, then the season finale (and fast-forward through most of those episodes) and not feel like I missed out on anything.

I still enjoy the show and look forward to it every Sunday.

That review is ridiculous because the "critic" bemoans the show killing a nobody and simultaneously complains that they killed a main character.

I’m actually fine with them killing off a “major” character. It was supposed to be anyone is at risk and then it pretty much went away from that. We all knew the 4-5 who would never die (and I don’t include Glenn in that) so I am ok with a shakeup. And it seems like the facebook people who are pissed are the comic readers who now can’t feel superior because they know what’s going to happen and could “taunt” all the rest of us with that info.

Every time I see something like that my first thought is dad being pissed that his “meal ticket” is out of a job and now he can’t live vicariously through his kid and he (the dad) won’t be famous anymore. Not saying that’s the case here but too often it is.
