It's a real signature. The signed page is a different type of paper than the rest of the book. It's translucent and the signature itself looks like it was done with a shaky hand. The hand written number looks like it was also written by Stan.

When I bought mine it was from a local independent book store, they were all HB 1st eds and were on clearance for £4.99. Both covers were available but neither were signed. I chose the colour cover as most of the plain sculpted covers were a bit dog eared!
