I’m gutted. Wonder if it was creative differences that people are talking about or is it straight up that WB told him to give it up.
That could explain it since these morons who made the show don't even like the IP no wonder it's the way it is. I feel Henry's decision is tied to that and coming back as Superman. No matter what Henry is Geralt and will remain the Live Action version. But I'll be open to how Liam does it, I just feel like the show could have been much better in the right hands and knowing how much of a fan Henry is I imagine he felt the same.

Yea definitely sounds like a “well if you want to make this deal to be officially back as Superman, you need to be available to us and not beholden to Netflix”

They have been saying ad nauseam in each interview how much work it was to get him back as Superman. I imagine it had to do with pay and availability. He was probably asking for X amount of money and the only way they’d give it to him is if he gave up Witcher

I think this will be the death of the show.
Yeah you’d think when you get an IP like that you would actually put fans in control of it. Stick closer to the books. The IP has so much potential but it’s never reached it.

I think that's most logical way he had to give it up. But I can also see he probably started seeing the witcher show isn't how he hoped it turn out. I really hope S3 is good as that will be his last one as Geralt so let's hope the clowns running the show don't **** it up.

Exactly I found it very overwhelming how different S1 was and how it tried to tell multiple peoples stories instead of just Geralt's. Now they will definitely crash and burn hard especially since they just lost the one single fan of the IP. Smh

I don't believe there was some scheduling issues...We all know Henry kicked *** to get Geralt's part and was very passionate about it, he is a fan and said few times that he wants show to be as close to the books as possible, while writers hate the source material, they try to vanish it from the existence and be ''original'' ,so I believe there was some creative differences and I don't blame him. While I'm a huge Witcher and Geralt fan, only reason I was supporting the show was Henry,we all know this show was bad. Good luck to him wherever he goes in his journey, but I'm still heartbroken, when your fav actor leaves ur fav character is a big thing.

I still stand by that the show should have begun with a season of Geralt just being Geralt and being a monster hunter. Use it as a way to introduce a broader audience to the concepts of a Witcher. Build on the folklore inspired, adult fairytale concepts that are adapted so well by the Witcher. Not overarching plot, no convoluted mess. Just a monster of the week type bash. It makes Geralt choosing to take on Ciri so much more meaningful too later on.

Season 2 was a hard watch for me outside a few gems. I think Cavill's departure probably was tied to his investment and vision not being respected or realized in full accuracy, coupled with the opportunity to realize the Superman he's always wanted to. Oh well.

Seems it's happening all over again. Only this time as we got him back as Superman we lost him as Geralt. I really hope the show drops hard and those fools don't get anything out of it for being the biggest liars, and fakes. Seriously still hits me hard how anyone who doesn't like something even bothers taking on a job around that thing. I know one thing though, once this figure releases it's going to be sought after assuming BuzzToys doesn't make his S2-S3 armor.

Damn, hopefully DC doesn't **** around with Superman again. It's not like their films are great so it's a moot point for me to compare them to Witcher... but I liked Henry better as Geralt.

And if they had to replace him they should've cast David Corenswet. All he had to do was grunt...

Wow I've been out and come back to these shocking news!

Firstly, Henry was an amazing Geralt and for me pretty much the only redeeming thing about the show, his clear passion for the The Witcher books and games was the glue that was holding this mess of an adaptation together, I remember when he mentioned in an interview he convinced the writers to change Roach's death scene in the second season which was originally meant to be a comedic moment... He also talked numerous times about wanting to respect the source material because he is a fan and he knows fans like him are watching in the hopes they see a good adaptation, season 2 already proved that a "good" adaptation is not in the cards for this.

Him reprising his role as Superman definitely played a part in this but I believe it mostly came down to the fact the writers working on The Witcher show despise the books and games as it's been officialy confirmed by a former writer who worked on the show, I've no doubt Henry could've juggled Witcher and DC with Netflix even delaying the show to wait for him, the fact that it seems like that might not even have been discussed makes it pretty clear to me that Henry himself ultimately made the decision to leave and I don't blame, the show feels cheap, most characters are horribly miscast and I never felt chemistry between Geralt and Yen nor the family dynamic they are supposed to have with Ciri from the few scenes they had together, that dynamic is supposed to be the heart of the whole franchise and it just doesn't work with the 3 actors.

Liam Hemsworth is in a tough spot, I don't wish him ill but I never found him a good or captivating actor he certainly doesn't have the charisma and gravitas Cavill has and even without the comparasion I find him a horrible casting choice for Geralt but I suppose Netflix and the writers want to keep the tradition of horrible castings. :lol

All in all it sucks Henry is gone but I'm not too heartbroken since the show itself has never been that good, Netflix should've just cut their losses and cancelled it or made a deal to close everything out with a small run of episodes or a movie with Cavill because this will crash and burn after he is gone and it's only right after hearing about how the creative team has zero respect for the source material and us and Henry, actual fans who just wanted this to be good.

The first season was OK, but there was a lot I didn't like. A lot of casting choices, costumes, buildings, environments. The fact they had real life little people play dwarves instead of doing what LOTR and Hobbit did. That sort of thing. I liked Henry Cavil as Geralt though.
But I made it through season 1.
I watched season 2 up until we meet Eskel. That was the last straw. Stopped watching after that. Glad I did as I understand season 2 deviated a great deal from the books.
I did see something online that suggested the writers of the show didn't like the Witcher books or games and after watching some of the show I can believe it.
