"Sweet November". The story of a sanctimonious hippy chick with cancer kidnapping a business man and turning him into an obnoxious hippy. Good lord ... just die already. I'd watch GI Joe and Transformers twice each before I'd sit through that thing again. My girlfriend (now wife) lost her movie-selection privileges for a while after that catastrophe.

Dishonorable mention ... "To Die For" (with Nicole Kidman). It was to die during. An insufferable woman (Kidman) -- who apparently wants to be on TV -- spends most of the movie filming a terrible documentary with the three skeeziest loser kids you've ever seen. She cheats on her husband with one of the kids (Joaquin Phoenix) ... and then gets him and his idiot friends to kill her husband, because her husband wants to have a family. When Newman from Seinfeld is the most likable and relatable character in a movie, you've got a major problem.

White Chicks is a classic, GTFO! :lecture

And for the LotR haters...

I gotta agree with Congo being bad. Like an hour and 35 minutes of setup that leads to about 10 minutes of conflict/resolution that is plain bad.

No. I like my action movies loud and stupid. If you're smart, I love you more.

But give me basics.

"URhhh GUY NEEDS THING TO DO THING."

And just film some cool ____. Also, make your main character badass. Aside from Transformers, Bay does that.

John Mason = Awesome.

Mike Lowry = Awesome.

Harry Stamper = Awesome, and should've lived. :lecture. :lol

Buried with Ryan Renolds......... The entire movie is in a coffin. 1 out of 10. It was on Netflix and I fast forwarded it so I watched 15 minutes start to end.

What the hell did you think the movie was about? Ryan Reynolds running free in a field of daffodils & tulips among magical unicorns? :slap:gah:

Will Smith. Bruce Willis. Nicolas Cage. :lecture

Also, John Mason is a badass. Aka Sean Connory. :lecture :lil

But really. I love Bay's stupid Hollywood crap. Its trash. But it's just so cool sometimes. He's a bad story teller, but he's a great visual director who can appeal to everyone. They're not everyone's cup of tea, but his existence is important for other, better films to get made off his money. And at least he says his mistakes. He knows people want a movie like the last half of TF3 rather then the first.

He also knows ROTF was a turd that should never have happened. He also parodies himself quite a bit. Anyone that hated, who makes fun of why people hate him is alright in my book. :D

I just feel he gets too much hate for giving people what they want. Blame them. Not him. :lecture

Also, its his birthday, according to IMDB. So he's gonna get some extra defending today. :lol :rotfl

What would be your worst and totally pointless film you have ever seen (and I am not talking about so bad, it's good variety either)?

I recently bought a Bali disc of Tales of the Ancient Empire, the sequel to Sword and the Scorceror (great 80's fantasy movie), and after popping it into my player I was totally gobsmacked within 5 minutes how utterly bad this film is. :gah: And to my bad judgement, :cuckoo: I kept watching it, hoping for it to get a little better, only to find that it had no story and no ending at all, just pieces of images through the end credits relating to a future sequel - which I pray and hope never comes.

The effects look like they were done on a Commodore 64, and the acting, well the less we talk about that the better.

Well I'm glad I got that off my chest. So what is your worst movie of all time?

Not an Albert Pyun fan, eh?

Okay...really? You say this every time. "It's crap, he makes a bunch of crap. But it looks awesome. Cause there's fighting. And the robots are pretty. So it's great, ya know? That's what people want. Crap coated with cool action scenes and pretty robots, you know? He's a genius, like Einstein only greater. But he hides his genius in crappy Transformer movies..for some reason."

I don't get it. "But it's just so cool sometimes." ..I just don't get it. I don't think it's cool. The action scenes aren't enough for me to enjoy the movies. I DO enjoy movies that are crazy and filled with action, though..for example, that one with uhh..what's his name..King Arthur...wtf is his name.. CLIVE OWENS! That's his name.
But yeah, that movie with him and some stripper..and a baby..THAT was a mindless action movie. It had no story. Lotta people got shot, that's all I remember. It was just fun. Fun as hell. Now if the Transformer movies were like that, I wouldn't care..but they're not. They focus on the stories. and the stories are awful. It seems like they take themselves so damn seriously, but then they add all this crap..leg-humping Transformer, Devastator having testicles.. It's not mindless action. They're not mindless action movies. They are garbage with some pretty cool action scenes.

but he's a great visual director who can appeal to everyone And at least he says his mistakes. He knows people want a movie like the last half of TF3 rather then the first.
Didn't he talk about his mistakes with TF2, and actually say that TF3 was going to be like..what everyone wanted? (well, obviously not everyone)
If he knows what he's doing wrong..I don't understand why he can't do things right.

I personally don't think his "visuals" are as mind blowing as you claim, either. The Transformers look fantastic, but not anymore fantastic than most stuff I see in movies.. But, that could be due to the CRAP that you have to go through to see them.

You say

but he's a great visual director who can appeal to everyone And at least he says his mistakes. He knows people want a movie like the last half of TF3 rather then the first.

...but then you say...

He also knows ROTF was a turd that should never have happened.

I just feel he gets too much hate for giving people what they want.

This is what I think. I think you are just..you're just completely in love with Michael Bay.
