The Punk-Ziggler thing reminds me of a match with the Great Khali. It was an over the top rope match, first one to go over the top rope and hit the floor loses, I forgot who it was against, but Khali threw the guy through over the second rope, and Khali goes after him, but as most of you know, he always goes over the top rope, and he hit the ground. Normally that mean Khali lost, but the ref didn't do ____. I think it was Jerry the King Lawler who did notice it and made comments about it but still.

And if my memory serves me right, Khali did that "climbing over the top rope" twice that match.

Lol. Saw that. If I remember correctly the excuse they made was that what Khali did was intentional so he wasn't technically eliminated. :lol

I'm recalling old Royal Rumbles where the rules were haphazard and changed from year to year. One year, a guy who isn't in the match or who was eliminated already could run out, toss a guy out, and that guy would be eliminated (I think Macho Man eliminated Jake the Snake once that way. I think Giant Gonzales also took Undertaker out once that way). Another year, that wouldn't count (I recall Diesel tossing several guys out after he was tossed and it not counting). Meh.

Did you guys get to see Brodus Clay's new gimmick? What do you think?

Brodus' new gimmick can only take him so far.

A prediction on who "she" is on Y2J's videos, I'm willing to bet it's gonna be Steph McMahon. :lecture

But they're making him out as a wuss.

If the writers at WWE knew what the viewers wanted, they'd make Daniel Bryan into another ultimate underdog would win cause of the size of the fight in him. Plus the whole "Punk" angle has gone down since that "shoot" promo that he cut that was heard all over the industry. It's just starting to be like McMahon/Austin with him & Laurinitis, who for the love of god has no shred of emotion in him.

I don't know where they're going with Bryan exactly, but he can be a great heel, and I think the undersized underdog babyface angle was a bit worn out. Just not believable that a guy his size could beat the Big Show straight up, and so I don't have a problem with the cowardly heel angle there. It worked for Jericho in the past. We'll see, but I'm cautiously optimistic that the WWE has a plan in place that will allow Bryan to develop as a genuine contender as time goes on. A Punk/Bryan Wrestlemania match could be the most awesome thing from a pure wrestling standpoint since Shawn Michaels/Kurt Angle.

Well, hopefully they let him hold onto the title for awhile and don't doom a talented guy like him to the mid-card as I've seen happen many times before.

Sadly. . .that's probably what's gonna happen :lol I see Cody Rhodes as being groomed to be a more serious headliner. Though I hope it isn't so, I see Bryan as a transitional champ of sorts who's gonna be no different than Jack Swagger in the hierarchy as time goes on.

And I really do agree with your earlier point--wrestling today isn't that great. Smackdown has some good matches (and has been that way for many years, going back to when Benoit, Guerrero, and Finlay were staples of the show), but the writing in the WWE is atrocious, they don't know how to pace storylines, the titles change so much that they're meaningless, they've only got 3 or 4 guys that feel like genuine championship material (Cena, Orton, now Punk, maybe Del Rio).

Guys like Punk, Bryan, Ziggler, and Rhodes make me hopeful for the future though.

Ziggler for me, truly is perfection. The man has the in-ring skills & can cut a promo as well. Cody on the other hand does have the in-ring capabilities but he comes off as a robot to me when he's doing his promos. I love what R-Truth is doing though! :lol

I do wish they'd give DiBiase more of a push though & I personally think Ryder is overrated.

The Funkasaurus is awesome. He needed to come and so did the rebirth of Kanes demonic gimmik. WWE had always been full of gimmiks, body builders, crazy storylines and characters but with everybody starting to turn into smarks and thinking they are too old to watch that stuff then moan about body builders and such i think in the last few years wrestling has went wayyyy too far in the other direction to please the fans. Now we have a bunch of regular Joe's 70% of which do not have a gimmik nor air time to show off their skills as they cannot hold attention. Even the attitude Era guys and monster's had been humanified in recent year's.

My 3 favourite guys are Punk, Ziggler And Cody with Honorable mention to Kane who was always my favourite due to his gimmik. But once Kane lost his mask and just started acting like regular big-man he lost the entire reason to support him unless you wanted to see Glen get the recognition he deserved.

I am all for good workers in the ring but i do not like how ever since WWE in particular has went PG for some reason they have done away with the crazy characters of the past. Air-boom i think could do with a gimmik because all they are now is 2 singles wrestlers who started to get no reaction from the crowd except for their finishers so got shoehorned into a tag team.

Im really happy for Cody Rhodes. He feels like the only small guy who has made it on his own. Ziggler is awesome but he has always had the backup of Vickie and now Swagger is in his Clique too.

Wasnt he guaranteed a WWE title shot for winning NXT? Did he ever use it?
