Seriously- I got mine with the low stock alert showing about 80 left- and I have been trying since 9:50- I was logged in- I followed some instructions posted on this board- an dI repeatedly tried to login. I must have been kicked 15 times- They need to upgrade their web server hosting to a load balancer or something. But I did get the exclusive!:banana

They have upgraded recently. If you start early it will most likely get you to the "this item is not for sale" yet screen.

I had no problem either. It took me about 6 minutes to get one. This was the most relaxed preorder I've had yet.
Try not going to Sideshow's website before the preorder will be available (9:59 for me) and clear your cache before going to their website. I had a situation with one of them that I kept getting the old front page instead of the streamlined order page, cleared my cache and finally got the streamline page to load.

This one was the fastest for me,under 1 minute, but it took close to 15 with Kit and Han only took about 2...I changed nothing about how I order any of them and ordered them all from the same computer..some times you just get in quicker than other times....lets no talk about Luke,Anakin and Obi....

I must say that its funny how some people have problems and then some don't. Issues may be outta SS's hands a lot of the times though. Esp considering a specific person's service provider may be experienceing issues at the same moment/car hit the cable line around the corner etc.

Although I didnt order Mace, I will say that this is the only time I've ever experienced a delay on SS's site loading. Took quite some time for me. All preorders Ive placed prior to this one were smooth with no hesitation or problems.

Can't really expect a company to upgrade their servers for ten of thousands of dollars of the few times their site is loaded this heavily.....

Agree Star Wars is pretty much the only times there are real problems.

Yep, I think SS has got about the right amount of oompf for these preorders. You have to balance the cash outlay for the hardware against the amount of time it's used. I actually had my worst day today, taking almost 18 minutes to get my Mace, and this was mainly on the shopping cart end. Once I got it in there, I had a tough time actuall proceeding to the check out.

My experience was just the opposite of Michael's. It took about 15 mins. to actually get the login page to order, but once in everything else was pretty quick.

It was fastest time by far for me today. I had the order placed by 1:05 and had the confirmation email about a minute later.

Since they upgraded their servers after the Luke and Anakin orders I've never had it take more than about 20 mins on any of them.

Are all of you guys who had trouble using a cable connection or DSL?

I have cable and I wonder if the problem is on the users side and not SS's.

Some people elsewhere complain about having trouble only to reveal later they're using dial-up so it's like uh, what do you expect?

Strange this was the fastest pre-order I have ever had I was done with confirm email at 12:01 pm my time which is a minute after they started taking orders.

2 minutes for me. A very quick order this time but I've had some fustrating ones in the past. It's basically the roll of the dice or should I say, the luck of the link. This time I got no time outs on pages loading. It was simply a slow loading process. But eventually the sign-in screen loaded, as did the order and confirmation pages.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm on a 3 Mbps cable modem, so I can assure you that there are no bandwidth issues "on my end."

So what can SS do about it then? If it was a problem on their end, you would not be seeing people ordering there figs in a couple minutes. Internet connections are the main thing, and yes cable modem speed fluctuates.

But as stated, Star Wars is the only product they have that shows problems during ordering, their other lines do not.

I really like to know why the Priority Pre-Order for Mace took so long today. So far I have all SW and LOTR 12" exclusives on order, and all orders took between 1 and 10 minutes. The 26 minutes for the Mace order today, is a sad record.
Reading this thread, I've noticed that I'm not the only one experiencing this unforeseeable fluctuation. If it's not on SSC's side, and not on our side, will we ever get to know what is causing this? Although I hope it may never happen, I think we all should prepare for the day that we miss a SW exclusive 12".

I'm not necessarily saying Sideshow needs to do anything. I was only responding to an uninformed comment that made the assumption that the problem must be on my end due to being on dial-up. I haven't been on dial-up for over 7 years. As far as my speed fluctuating, yes it does, but it never drops below 2 Mbps, and it has never, EVER been below 2.5 Mbps during the day. Quit trying to blame my connection for something that I know with absolute certainty has nothing to do with it.

The fact is that there are wildly inconsistent reports from different people during the order process, and many of the reported problems cannot be attributed to peoples' connection speed, stale cache, or other local causes.

This was by far the most difficult pre-order for me. Usually I'm done by 1:02 but it took me 12 minutes just to get to the log in screen. I just think that because of President's Day a lot of people had the chance to get on and make things even slower.

Calm down dude.

I wasn't rolling my eyes at you.

I simply asked what connection you guys here are using and considering how I said that others "elsewhere" who complaining that it was SS's fault and then revealed they were using dial-up I don't see how I was making an uninformed comment towards you at all.

The fact is also that, from what I've seen on this site and rebelscum, only a very very small percent of people missed out on the exclusive and 99% of those just simply forgot to order in time or showed up too late.

Actually I only read one poster who said he was on the site at the ordering start time and continually tried but missed out on it.

I see no one on the "I missed out" thread here claiming they didn't get it because of the servers so I'd say SS proved a 100% satisfaction rate at least to all the posters here.

Besides, you got yours so what are you so upset about?

It was my worst day too. I couldn't get through on line and I had to order on the phone and then got through and accidentally ordered it online too. Someone on the wait list will be happy though.
