They need to upgrade their servers

I am sure it is on the Sideshow Side! I tried using a T1 connection and a DSL connection, the DSL got through. It all depends on how lucky you are to get an open connection on the web servers. Only solution is to open more connections or increase servers.

Don't be too sure about that. I usually order from a T1 line at work and it usually takes between 5-10 min. for me. Today, I had the day off and I did it from a cable modem at home and got in and out in under 1 min. I think there are MANY fickle tides and ebbs in the internet river that combine and flow each of our connections and there are many possibilites.

I think the holiday affected today's ordering process alot. I'm usually working these days, but I was home today and for the first time since Obi-Wan, I was able to try and order online. I normally call on my cell right at 11 (our time) and get through pretty quickly. Today, as soon as the page wouldn't load I called them and got through on my first try. I was shocked myself. Now whenever they announce Vader & Fett, that's when you'll really see issues.:horror

Thrity-two minutes...? That means 1750 people visited the site and/or phoned in orders in that time frame. Impressive.

I hope the number of exclusives and server capacity grows as the customer demand does. Mace sold out in 32 minutes and some people complained of up to 20 minutes of waiting. If those two figures meet or if the sold out time passes the wait time it'll turn into a lottery. There would be more people trying to order -- all at the same time -- than the number of exclusives. I don't think anyone wants that.

There are a few servers and a lot depends on which server you get connected to. So there isn't going to be a consistent experience for us no matter what manner we're using to connect.

Although it does seem that those that missed out are just the ones that couldn't be in front of their computers at the appropriate time. (as I wasn't for Kit - hello! Wait list, please come in!)

You are probably right Dave. Eventually I got a Mace SSC exclusive, after 26 minutes, with barely 100 left. Even if I'm not happy about it, I can put up with that (and most dedicated collectors, I may presume), as long as I'm sure to have all the forthcoming 12" SSC exclusive editions, without SSC having to increase the ES... But that's wishful thinking.
Reality is, that some experience a fast PPO, and others, oh well...
Just like some other board members, I'm afraid that in the near future, the fun will be over: a lot of collectors will be sitting endless minutes in front of their PC's, trying to order the next SSC exclusive 12 inch, just to find that it's been sold out 5 minutes ago...

"Help us Obi-Wan Kenobi - the wait list will be our only hope."
"The more you tighten your grip, Collectors, the more 12 inch SSC exclusives will slip through your fingers."
"Ebay - we don't need their scum"

Right! It seems like this figure had a pretty small window of time from when the site started behaving itself to sellout. So far, no matter how stressful the ordering has been, I have always gotten mine in, along with just about all of those who are there at the right time trying. If the edition sizes remain the same, that will not continue...
