I'd say living in Canada right now(and years past) is much better then living in the US, just my opinion.

Depends on where you live in Canada, and where you live in the US. There are good and bad things about both. And both are so diverse that it would be hard to judge them as a whole.

:goodpost:

To argue with this would be bullheaded and ignorant.

That is true yes. I know there is really nothing for you out in eastern Canada, other then some of the most beautiful scenery in all of Canada.

The security guard I work with is always bringing up how much better chocolate is in Britain. This, in the middle of endless rants on how the coal mining union screwed his father for being a Polish Jew, and how after decades of paying taxes, his mother lives on pennies while immigrants are given houses, even while they denounce Britain and are afforded legal protections that their critics are not. Atleast the chocolate is good.

I usually tell him that Europe, like Asia, has deeply rooted cultural tradition when it comes to things like wine, cheese, chocolate, etc. and it makes sense that they would be better than an infant culture like the U.S. Since Canada is still a colony, culturally, it would follow that they were still dominated by Old World values. Kinda like we're becoming, but we've had to become it. Canada always has been.

I hope you still have me on ignore, loser.

Yep still on ignore. I saw LaMelnik's quote of you though. You are temporarily off the list...

Do you really think that what Ween said is untrue? Do you really believe that every single corner of Canada is a better place to live than any given place in the US?

What I'm about to say does not spring from any Patriotism or Nationalism: if you really believe that, you are bullheaded and ignorant. I know you said it was your "opinion", but that doesn't prevent it from being bullheaded and ignorant.

Perhaps you're just talking trash, in which case my comments can be disregarded. But if you really believe that what The Ween said wasn't wise and true----> bullheaded and ignorant... let's throw in bigoted as well.

That said, I do envy Canada's health-care system. :)

Damn you LaMelnik. :tap

This really is a better place when I can't see Val.

I disagree :pfft:

Love reading everyone's comments cause everyone is allowed to have an opinion and those that may piss you off actually make you think. So in actuality, they wind up being worthwhile posts.* :1-1:

*Unless you are Rosario... :nana:

Well, I didn't say it was a better place if you couldn't see him.

When I see him, I can't control my reactions to his posts, and I usually end up making a scene. It's in everybody's best interests if I have him on ignore.

Generally I agree with you though. For example, even though NAM can cheese me off pretty good, he has gotten me to think on several occasions. I only have two members on ignore. I put it off for a long time, but the two I ignore have pretty consistently made my blood boil with no positive results. I do miss Valfar's music posts in the What are You Listening To thread, but I don't miss his criticisms of other peoples music. -__-
