You sound just like my brother... Off all summer and all he does is see movies and work out... the bastard. I'm sure being a teacher sucks in the summer due to the lack of paychecks but I can't imagine how cool it would be to take a couple months off.

I'm not a teacher. They get paid all year. Well, their salaries are stretched out over the year. I don't make anywhere near what a teacher does.

Actually, I'd rather work all year and take longer breaks like in spring or winter. All this time off really spoils you and it's hard to go back.

It was. I got pretty emotional. Didn't expect that, but I should have. Jimi Hendrix's bones live there.

I left him a crow's feather that I found in the woods the day before, and a 1976 quarter. I got a rubbing of the marker too. I screwed up my first three attempts because it was windy and I didn't bring tape. On the last try, I peeled the pricetag off the back of the paper and ripped it into four pieces. That worked long enough for me to get a good one.

I was planning on going back to finish my degree in secondary education, but with everything that has been going on with layoffs and the loss of collective bargaining rights for my neighboring state to the north, I've been considering going in a totally different direction even though it'll take me more time to finish.

Teachers are just overpaid babysitters to a lot of people these days. But if you have the passion, then by all means go for it. Just make sure you get into a good system.

Fixed. When you have to deal with the results of someone's failed parenting and expect to get them to meet an already unattainably low standard by the end of the year, then be bombarded with bull____ from the parents, the school and the state when the waste of sperm doesn't make it, there's not enough money in the world to make that worthwhile.
