I remember at the end of almost every episode of Battle of the Planets they had a shot of their ship at sundown flying through the air and me and my brother would rush out to the front yard because at that same time there was always a plane flying by that looked just like it and we believed it was THEM!

When I was in first grade, I had elaborate plans of how I was going to build that ship in my backyard.

Wow, pretty elaborate plans for a kindergartner.

I wasn't in kindergarten, but when I was in first grade I loved that movie The sword and the Sorcerer, so I'd make that 3-bladed sword out of cardboard and paper, held together with scotch tape. But shortly after that I watched A Nightmare on Elm Street, and I'd try to make Freddy's glove out of aluminum cans (to make it more realistic). I cut myself a lot doing that.
