That sounds magical. My car just spent a week stuck in my parking spot. I finally got the chance to take an axe to it the other day and it's free now. Ice was up to the rims.

Yea we had some ice and snow wed/thurs but it was gone on Saturday.

This was an 8" sheet of ice that built up as the thaws came and went over the last few weeks. My house is on a hill, so it all melts into the road at the bottom. Wind from the lake, directly across the road, freezes it as soon as the sun goes down. I was parked nose in, ground was sloped, and the car is front wheel drive. Ice was wet so as I tried repeatedly to back out, I burned ruts into it. Finally got a push, so when I parked it again, I turned it sideways. Didn't matter. This time, there was no leverage to push it, so I had to cut the ice down to the road and make it susceptible to gravity again.

The hard part was not planting the axe in my tires. Also, not having a heart attack. My big dream was to not pay anyone to tow it out and I got what I wanted.
