The engine crushes Donnie. Going forward from that event his girlfriend will live, as well as Donnie's mom. But in 28 days, 6 hours and 42 minutes Donnie's little sister would still be on the airplane with Mrs. Farmer (who now will never know of Jim Cunningham's secret room). Frank the Bunny also lives.

I liked Donnie Darko, but I think it's a bit over-hyped. It felt like a run of the mill Stephen King story.

if frank didn't distract donnie in the first place, he'd die in the beginning. just like what he have done on the end.

donnie's sister wouldn't die...there's a S.Darko blasphemous sequel direct to video.

we were also debating if donnie pulled a groundhog day leading to those final events or not. haha

Judging by our nation's history, I think they made the right choice with bald eagles.

I once had a conversation with a Muslim lawyer from Nigeria who tried explaining to me that democracies are inherently doomed because they are founded on principles of tolerance that are contrary to the human nature to dominate. He insisted that this was America's weakness and that it would be the reason America will never last as long as Rome.

Franklin spent most of the war in Paris. Those who spent the war in the colonies would have been more inclined to choose a symbol that recognized what most of human history had in store for people who had no intention of being ruled.

Like EVILFACE said, turkey is good for eating. Not exactly the message you want to send to a world that wants to pick you clean.
