Wasn't sure where to put this, but oh hell who cares.

in priority order.

1.Hot Toys Batman Begins
2.Hot Toys Hudson (gonna turn him into hicks, want one really bad after I saw aliens)
3.Kotobukiya Batman
4.Kotobukia Superman
5.Marvel Select Venom (any variant is fine)

what are you looking foward to getting at SDCC? any exclusives? name em!

Not to be Debbie downer, but good luck with that.

It used to be that you could find rare stuff at conventions, but with the proliferation of online stores and ebay there's usually never anything special or rare at a con. Everyone has the same current release stuff and it's usually higher priced than you can get it online. Until Sunday when some great deals can be made.

seriously?!??!

If I could go, I would hunt some Freaks (they are no things I know) and drink some beer :)
To meet fellow collectors and make some fun.

I believe that is what the authorities call Stalking...:chew:chew

seriously what the ****!??!?!?!? arghhhhhh!!!

You can check all the rows 100-1500 for all the actual shops and they will more or less sell the same products.

I am completely serious. But saying that, I did pick up the Wonder Woman serpent statue at a recent Wizard world con for much lower than the ebay rate. But it was on the last day of the show.

See for me, all the deals are in comics or older toys (like DC Direct etc) I spend like TONS on half off comics. I'm not going to SDCC this year, but I'm going to Wizard World Chicago and I'll be all about half off trades and used garbage like that. But as far as high end stuff, you might get some great deals on Kong statues?

Go anyway, it'll be a blast! I wish I could this year.

Yeah, Sunday is the best day to try and get deals on items. There's tons more to do besides the exhibitors hall though (even if walking through there takes up a good portion of my con time :lol)...the panels alone are worth the price of admission IMO.

Hoping to pick up a few busts/statues missing from my collection and my local LCS guys gave me a short list of stuff for them to grab if I see it.

last comic con I went to in Seattle, the only stuff I really took advantage of was the half price trade's and a few cheap busts, you can only carry so much :monkey2

I don't think that is 100% true, but it has gotten to the point where you're trying just to save $5 at this booth or $10 at another one. Then you have to factor in the cost of the show when buying something. SDCC is worth it, b/c of everything/everyone there, but I went to Megacon in Orlando earlier in the year and it was garbage. Margot Kidder was there--well, there REALLY isn't the right term. Let's just say her meds were working overtime.

Now granted, I grew up in Pittsburgh, where twice a year we'd have the Pittsburgh Childhood and Toy Collectable Show, which was great b/c it WASN'T a Con. It was just TOY dealers coming together to sell, no artists (well, the guy who did Chakan--The Forever Man for Genesis was ALWAYS there, but I think he was local), no comic books--just toys as far as the eyes could see. But even these days that show has gone downhill. Collectors have to face it. The internet is our new toystore.

So I guess if you're going for older stuff--like DC Direct stuff or Legends or McFarlane--it could be worth it. But, yeah, don't hold yer breath for a $150 Takara Batman.
