good question. i can't imagine it working very well in my house, cause all the furniture I own.
 
I've been kinda wanting one for awhile myself, but never pulled the trigger. I have a decent amount of furniture too, but even if it would do the hallway, kitchen and dining room it would be a blessing. F$#&*@#& pet hair everywhere. :panic::panic:
 
My mom has one and loves it. It actually does a pretty good job (the amount of lint/dirt that it picks up is impressive). They move well under and around furniture, etc. I think they are well worth the expense.
