Any packaging pics (i.e. how is he situated in his Styrofoam coffin)?

dammit, my first exclusive came today and now it has me considering jumping back into the marvel pf line :banghead

Quick Review:

GOOD: He's HUGE, 100 x BETTER looking in person than ANY picture (although some of these pics do look nice)! Very Impressive!!!

BAD: Base has something rattling inside but exterior isn't damaged. ONLY ONE, let me repeat ONLY ONE foot metal peg and it's on the straight right leg. The left foot has NO peg and just rests on the base.

Now, the way it is now he's completely UNSTABLE. What I'm thinking is that whatever is rattiling inside the base has to do with making sure that his ONE peg is appropriately secured on the base because the way it is now, he's rocking and sliding way too much!

The peg goes into it's base socket (the peg is under the heel of the boot and when inserted all you see is the heel) but man is it loose and with the peg leg being loose, it then causes the left bent leg to also be loose and slide back and forth on the base!

That's what i'm guessing, I could be wrong and this is the way he's supposed to connect and whatever is rattling is then a mystery but I sure hope not because there will definately be a-lot of falling THOR's in the near future!

WOW, why they went with ONE peg is INSANE!] for something so huge and on a raised base no less!

Someone already asked me if i'm sure what's rattling isn't a 2nd peg and it's not because there isn't even a 2nd hole on the base for another peg to fit into!

Oh well, I have to say, this is my third sideshow product and 2 out of the three came damaged!

My Captain America from Ebay was fine, well except for some minor paint issues on the shield that I don't know if it's a manufacturing problem or the original owner messed things up but it looks like manufacturing, but my Wolverine Comiquette that arrived straight from SS came with a dented base.

Talk about being bummed out! An AWESOME PF Figure but with a Broken Base!

Can anyone please describe or show me a picture of what the socket hole looks like on the base where the peg gets inserted. Thank You

CRAP!

It sucks...and that's why I don't understand why owners keep the boxes sealed. Open those boxes and verify that everything is okay. At least you have 30 days to return for a new one.

i think a lot of collectors (including myself) want to feel that anything unopened is mint in box since it hasn't been handled by anyone else. the truth of the matter is that this hobby will potentially have pieces arrive broken from either shipping or bad QC. i personally think it's a good idea to check your packages soon after purchase. i once bought a PF Vader and left it unopened for months since i was in the middle of moving to a new place. well, once i finally got around to opening it i found a dent on the helmet. :(

Got mine yesterday and I have to say that this has quickly become my 2nd favorite Marvel PF after Cap. I still have issues with the tunic, I think it should have been more of a leather material, but I no longer hate the sculpted cape - it really works with the pose.

The box is huge though! It's Predator box tall, even though it's not as wide.

I don't have any stability problems, the one peg is formed to the base, which is unusual, and keeps him pretty firmly on the base. No rattling though. I was surprised how light the base was though, seems like it should be heavier for the mass.

Overall - I think this one will be up their in the pantheon of PFs with Doom, Hulk and Cap in no time.

I'm still flabbergasted that SS went with a ONE PEF design to hold up this very awesome PF.

I also can't get over the fact how incredible he looks in person! WOWZA!

It dwarfs the Cap and also looks better as well although seeing the Hulk, Cap, Thor and the rest of the other Marvel PF pieces together i'm sure looks insane cool!

Ughhh...please.....what the heck is bouncing around inside thr base!

How does the peg connect to the base, is there something that's inside the socket that holds the peg tight and maybe this is what came off on my base or is it supposed to be this freaking loose!

Help me Obi-Wan Ken-Forum, you're my only hope....damnit!

Hmm..

First and foremost, I place him as being better than Cap, not that Cap is anything bad by any stretch of the imagination. Maybe it's THOR's massive size that impressed me so much!

Cape was a big surprise factor for me, I LOVE it and was very afraid of the opposite happening! It looks very majestic yet powerful and dynamic and it reminds me how they made Caps gloves look like leather even though it was Poly....they hit a home run with the cape!

yes, the base is lighter than I expected, much lighter than Caps.

Agreed, a thicker meatier leather texture probably would've looked and felt meaner but what's on there also works, another pleasant surprise. Who knows, maybe the leather would've been too Conan or something.

WATCH OUT for the wings on the helmet, the front horn is sharp and VERY FRAGILE...sturdy...but fragile nonetheless!

Heel and peg are formed to the base, kinda cool and probably was required due to the length of the base and figure itself to add more stability but...

Stable.....Heck Noooooo....not mine.....I will NOT leave him on the base until I find out what's going on.

He KICKS #$# and asks questions later.

Thank You

Please,

Inbetween picture taking can someone take a second to peek inside the base's socket hole and describe what it looks like.

Is it just a carved out hole with the same material the base is made from or is there something else in there that helps with holding the metal peg tighter and maybe this is what is rattling inside my base.

I know that the socket has a molded shape to fit the heel of his boot.

Mine is just that molded socket, same color as the base.

The rattling sounds as if it's the size of a marble or quarter.

Seriously, my THOR is unstable and while we all can have different definitions of unstable, the peg foot rocks back and forth and the other foot glides back and forth on the tip of that rock way to easily.

My Cap rocks a little but I wouldn't categorize him as being unstable.

YES, I'm new to this so please forgive me for being bummed out knowing that there's something rattling inside the base and the figure rocks back and forth like a 21 year old Elvis!

Thank you

the foot/peg where the statue attaches into the base is quite snug. at least it is on mine. i had to apply a bit of pressure to get it to fit in. also, the other leg barely touches the base. my cap pf on the other hand is not as tightly mounted. with a little push i can offset its position on the base but it's such a heavy figure that it's not a big deal unless you're moving it around.

man, the "wow'ness" factor is still there for me!
