So, I finally got the the HT L&T Thor arms and did a pretty simple mod to use them on this body. To me, these arms are not only have better proportions, but the articulation is much improved over the stock 3Z arms. The ratchet joints in the elbows are VERY strong compared to the softer ones in the 3Z arms. I’m naturally a museum poser, but I won’t the option should I decide to go for something more dynamic which the original 3Z arms didn’t provide.
For those interested here’s what I did:
- The ball joint on the Thor arms are just fractionally smaller than those of the stock 3Z arms. So, I wrapped the Thor ball joints in a couple layers of model masking tape and that did the trick. This is great b/c it’s it’s easily reversible should I end up selling the figure down the road.
- For the wrist pegs, I cut a piece of styrene tube that would slide over the 3Z wrist pegs to give enough friction to hold inside the Thor arms. You could probably use tape as well for this instead of the styrene
