Jnix has posted some photos from another take with the Vimal sculpt, and I think I prefer it over the first one. Which also would confirm my theory after seeing the other painted versions in this thread: the sculpted hair is the thing that is messing with the likeness

Mine is currently being painted by Sinag. Still a WIP, because I'm going for a S3-S4 Jon with the scars and he has not started yet on hairing it:

Not sure what the fuss is with like likeness on the haired version, looks completely fine to me

Not mine but this is painted by Yh-Ha

That eBay sculpt looks like it might be recast from Threezero's with new hair.

There are some great paint-ups of Vimal's Snow, but the squinty eyes completely ruin that sculpt and there's no way around it.

Huh. I don't agree at all. It may not be the PERFECT sculpt (they rarely are, at least to me), but I think it looks pretty damn good. Very happy with mine.

It looks like he's taking a poop - it's a completely uninspired expression. I'm not knocking anyone that likes it - it certainly looks like Harrington.

Can't agree with that. You can blame the storms beyond the Wall, or all those white landscapes...but Kit makes that expression

Don't know what else to say if you think the slits in the sculpt are as large as the examples in those photos. Not including just at the moment of blinking in the animated one. Further, that kind of squint would demand an equally expressive mouth, which isn't there on the sculpt. It just looks awkward and unnatural, no matter how it's painted.

Incidentally, why isn't this part of the discussion in the customs section?

I tried to lighten my stock head's skintone, and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I just need to figure out what people use to give the eyes and lips that gloss.

Got my recast from EBay and started some tweakings.

Chopped the tip of the nose to make it less pointy. Also trying to fix the mouth to make it more symmetrical.
