I definitely want to see a repaint of this, because I'm debating having it done myself. I'm just worried that even new paintwork won't improve this sculpt enough.

Really?? Well good for you, man! Very, very cool of him to do this. I really want to see a repaint but I do NOT want to pay for it. And what's really awesome about this is he's a splendid painter. A level of quality that you wouldn't think you'd get for free EVER. Whenever I get around to pulling together cash for Ned's repaint your guy is the painter I'm going to. I can never keep his username straight in my head. I checked the Members list. Is it Mus_Musculus?

Yup! I was surprised by the offer, and I wasn't about to say no. He likes trying new techniques and he wants to do the grit and scars on Jon. It's mus_musculus on here or just search Mus Musculus on Facebook. Super cool dude and now a personal friend.

No offense to the artist but the first thing that came to mind upon seeing the haired version was a Jesus figure. I just don't see Jon Snow there.

Is there something that you would improve on? I'm not trying to start an argument, just wanting to hear suggestions from someone that doesn't like it. There's still time to tweak it. While I agree that it isn't 100%, it is damn close and much better than the 3Z head.

$5 says it already shipped. I never got a shipping notice or anything. It just showed up on my doorstep. I don't think they update order information that often, although if you're worried they do seem to respond to emails very quickly.

Which throne is that?

Hero Club. Its not licensed but its a great item. And it was cheap considering the size of it. If i recall correctly, cost me less than the Jon Snow set from Threezero.

Yeah, that’s the Hero Club throne. It’s a close enough facsimile of the Iron Throne and poses great with 1:6 figures. As evenflow mentioned, I believe you can probably find it in the sub $200 range... I wonder if it's a recast though.

If I recall correctly, Dark Horse sold a licensed throne with a base but it was extremely limited and heavy (25 lbs). I forgot if it was 1:6 scale but it was slightly over a foot.


Unboxed Jon Snow and I’m actually quite satisfied with the purchase. It’s not perfect (and I do have gripes about it as collectors have posted in this thread) but when you factor in the price and the relative accuracy, I believe ThreeZero deserves some credit. As other have said, I was surprised how weighty Ghost was and it compliments Jon Snow well.

To be honest, it's really hard for me to see the likeness too, Mudblood. Maybe when the hair is added and a paint mock up can be done it will bring out what is already there but not easily seen?. I'm not all that crazy about the expression at the moment either. Still, I anticipate the completion of this sculpt. I hope it turns out to be a winner.

I don't know what to think. I see the sculpt super imposed on top of screen caps and it looks to line up perfectly, but then on its own it doesn't look quite right. But some times a sculpt can look off then turn out to be bang on after a paint job.

It's another case of "this is supposed to be Jon Snow". I don't see any Kit in that sculpt. Maybe paint will improve it a little but on the unpainted MJ Choi Joker I could at least see some Heath Ledger in there.

I'm glad I'd already decided against a custom sculpt.

Not everyone has the power. To see beyond the pixels. Rocco has refined and improved the sculpt further since those images, but to say that you don't see any kit in the sculpt is really more a comment on you and not the sculpt. Sorry.
