Do we know what that is? Any context at all? Is it something official that 3Z is planning to sell? Or an unused proto? Or something an independent artist modded?

That's really a poster child for the reason I usually hate "real" hair on my dollies. Just makes him look weird and creepy. Sometimes it works, but it's got to be done just right.

I just finished watching a season 1 to season 5 marathon over the week, I like the show, and my favorite character would be Tyrion. I might wanna get him and mod him.

thats because theres no volume on the rooted part of the hair. Thats why the hair looks a bit 'flat'. A semi sculpted and rooted hair works best for this kind of hair IMO.

And I applaud someone for having the balls to make that kind of mod, but it takes a lot of practice to do it well, whether you go the semi-sculpted route or not. Cheungkinmen, Elvis1976, and Rainman have all shown themselves capable of doing this really well, but they are all seasoned customizers.

The recent Aragon (ACI Toys?) looks terrible out of box but some people have styled the hair really good and it looks great. But it has to be done just right and probably requires a lot of patience and expertise.

The upcoming Tauriel seems to be a good comprise with a mix of molded hair for most of the head but rooted hair for her longer strands. I'm really curious how this fig will turn out. Perhaps this mix could be used for a future Dany.

There are a couple customizers who insist on putting real hair on all their figures. They aren't that great at doing it either. The one thing that annoys me to no end is a bad hair/paint job and horrible posing. I understand that some people don't want to or can't take the time to futz and pose, but at least put their elbows and hands at a realistic angle.

Yeah, it's their stuff, they can do what they want.

Sawed-off David Lee Roth.

I think it only looks off because the colour is not quite accurate, but it is superb work from a technical standpoint. I don't get the freak outs over real hair. They're all dolls. You are a doll collector.
