While I can actually see them dropping this if there are not enough pre-orders... the negativity thing
is always going to happen. People have been complaining over the $45 price point on Ultimates figures since they started
(Yet have no problem paying about $55 with tax on a NECA TMNT 2-Pack with flaking paint and bad joints).

I totally understand thinking 400 is crazy. For me, TCats was always the line that got away. As a kid, I only got to to have a small handful of figures but badly wanted the entire line including the thundertank. I remember them being 7.99 and my mom usually scoffed at any figure back then that was over 4.99, so my purchases usually were limited to Joe, MOTU, Super Powers, anything around that price point (not that I'm complaining, it was a great childhood).

But I feel thinking 200 also being crazy is unreasonable imo, especially in 2021. The fact that it isn't 1/6 is also irrelevant to me. They're all toys at the end of the day, and if I'm paying $315 plus shipping for a 1/6 figure set (Deluxe Mando) or $600 for a 1/6 Bike (Akira), this isn't a stretch for my sensibilities.

does the tank has any other mechanism apart from the tracks? i mean it looks pretty simple with few big panels to cover the chassis. Comparing it to a much more complex and detailed 1/6 Akira Bike (with diecasts lights & SFX) i don't know. How much was the 1/6 Delorean and batmobiles anyway? Granted those were years ago.

I rather have them in Snap fit model kits like Bandai did. Even without paint they would look decent.

And regarding it as a non-mass produced item. Well that is the direction Super 7 is heading right from the start. They had little intentions to sell their items world wide in bigger numbers. Maybe it's their licensing issues, maybe they just want to serve selected targets, am pretty sure if it was Neca they'd try to make & sell as many as their licensing allows.

For those complaining Neca joints & paint flakes, well at least a Neca figure are FULLY PAINTED up to the pegs & joints. So it's gonna happen.

Super7 is not Hasbro, they don't have years of experience on transformation or mechanism sorts of toys.

Hasbro has a lot Japanese toy maker's input in terms of knowledge on transformable toys.

Furthermore, I believe Super 7 is a small team and Thundercats is such a niche market. I doubt they'll reach the goal of Razorcrest, not even close.

i think anything Super7 do is for niche markets. Mattel is the company that made Thundercats niche, just like Ghostbusters, when they could have done it the mass market way like Neca (when not limited by licensing) & McFarlane. I believe they did that because they felt the market was small and the figures are higher quality so they can't mass produce them, but Neca & McFarlane did it anyway even though there are QC issues.

Super 7 probably is license restriction that forces them to do either vintage style figures or limited numbers. If that's the case it can be understandable with their generally higher pricing.

So Super7 is reissuing Lion-O, Panthro, and Mumm-Ra, will Panthro now have the correct trunks or will it be the wrong color again?:lol:wink1:

Finally got Slithe in and it looks great other than the blueish tint to the grey under belly parts. I didn’t think it looked that blue or grey in the show but more of a lighter green compared to the drab dark green of his back skin. The sculpt and articulation are good and it’s nice to have an updated figure added to this collection.

I thought about Vultureman to complete the set of henchmen but that’s it. Still waiting on wilykit and wilykat with snarf.

Finally arrived! These are great additions.

your Tygra was OK?

some YouTube reviewer (I think Mad Hatter) mentioned the paint app on his Tygra was a serious downgrade compared to the proto.

based on your pic, it looks liked it turned out OK.

The pics Mad Hatter used were of my Tygra, Super 7 have agreed to replace it. Fingers crossed for everyone else. The ab shading will still look terrible and the lack of elbow pad, but I'd hope for some better overall quality across the release.

Yes. Mine seems fine. I wish it was the more muted colors of the proto but I’m ok with it. Now that Super7 is making these new figures without the pins showing in the joints I hope they go back and redesign Lion-O without the pins. I know the new “evil” lion-o shows no pins so hopefully we will get a reissue without the pins. I would hope we’d see a better sculpt to make him a bit taller than the other cats.

Looks like the new Evil Lion-O release will have no exposed pin joints but the old inaccurate body proportions with torso gaps. Could just be a prototype. I’m hoping SUPER7 will reissue Lion-O with the new better proportions and pinless joints like his companions.
