Personally I have given up hope on getting a set of the video game turtles, but at least I can look forward to their larger scale offerings. Just hope they bring back Donatello for pre order. Seems like he is sold out everywhere now.

$400 for both sets on ebay.

This certainly is a ****storm. Honestly, this kind of thing makes this hobby more frustrating than anything else. The idea that we need middlemen, middlemen who buy up all the stock and therefore can manipulate prices, to get a mass produced item just sucks.

As much as I'm afraid that prices may actually rise over time, I'm going to hold out. Just can't justify $45/figure at these eBay prices when retail is $25. Even accounting for fees, shipping, and "handling" costs, the people scalping these sets are making a decent chunk. But, the buyers are aplenty and I understand why. I just know I'll feel anxiety about waiting to get them but unhappiness about spending a ton to get them. In the end, I will go without if need be: after all, I have the arcade cabinet itself!

Might as well paint some Figuarts pixelated & call it a day. Hopefully they release shredder w/ footsoldiers since they see the demand & bebop/rocksteady would be nice. Anybody know if SH Figuarts has ever used cloth for their figures?

Not sure if anyone has noticed or pointed it out, but April on the box art is different from April on the original arcade cabinet. I know because I have that cab and walk past it every day!

The box art appears to have one April on the front that matches the April on the front of the arcade cabinet at the top. The one on the side of the arcade cabinet appears to match the one on the side of the figure box.

Wow that is some great attention to detail... too bad this is an exclusive :-(

Leo and Raph are revered on the side art...that's odd

Actually, looks like a mirror image

That's because the image is mirrored on the sides of the arcade cabinet. I'm guessing it's mirrored on the cabinet so April wouldn't get cut off by the slanted front edge:

That thing is beautiful brings a tear to my eye

I loved the art from that arcade. So glad this box has same theme.

I think Japanese Arcade should have different art work? because for all i know, Japanese versions has the coolest artworks, while Americans tend to turn it into a family comedy, that is why i only collect Japanese versions of older games because the US cover art is so bad.

BTW is this similar to Turtles in Time? because Turtles in Time is the GOAT turtle game.

Yeah Japanese cover art is superior to American cover art hands down...but with things like this I think it's in the "it's so bad it's good" category...the nostalgia cheese factor ya know

Making those game Turtles a con exclusive really blows. TMNT II is one of my favorite games of all time and I still listen to the soundtrack, both te arcade and NES versions.

I know NECA is saying these SDCC box sets are exclusive due to license restrictions, but I have a feeling we'll see single card releases later on.
