Man I wish they were 1/12

They would be cool at 1/12 definitely but never thought we would get decent Turtles at this scale. Dont usually do 1/18 but at this size can display them in a diorama much better with the space.

A little smaller than I realized, but the swap-outs are cool. I’m thinking a touch of customization could come in handy.

Kind of sucks that the new Playmates Technodrome is a little smaller than the original, but I still look forward to getting it. I never had any of the playsets when I was a kid so this will be awesome to have on my shelf.

So NECA is making Tatsu from the 1990 movie. Not up for pre-order but there are pictures of the packaging and figure out there. Pretty much have everything we could want from the movie at this point.

saw a pic where it doesn't really look like Obata so I wonder if they actually got the actor's likeness or just used some rando's face that is close enough as they did with the shadow warriors two-pack.

Where are the 1:6 scale 90s Henson rubber-suit (and ratty furred) movie figures?

Pretty much have everything we could want from the movie at this point.

Except the main want, 1:6 scale 90s rubber suit Henson Movie Turtles (and Splinter)

Though apparently Jazz Inc. is possibly now pursuing that.

1990s TMNT figures are quite likely. This is a very satisfying sliver of news for me personally. InArt turned the license down due to being ‘too busy.’

If you zoom in on the clearer photos, it looks like him. Neca is not going to make him without his likeness.

I don't think he looks like him at all. If they do have the rights this might be the worst NECA sculpt I've seen in years but they're way too good at sculpting for me to believe this so I think it's another Oroku Saki/Hamato Yoshi situation where they try to get around it

Regarding the enthusiasm from Joost for movie figures, how would people prefer the turtles are tackled in 1/6?

Would solid plastic bodies with visible joints- essentially downscaled versions of the 1/4 scale Necas- be acceptable, or they could do similar to the ThreeZero turtles with seamless, rubber arms and legs, but you still have the shoulder joint, or should JazzInc attempt to make entirely seamless bodies from medical grade silicone?
Multiple faces/heads are a must- and maybe these would be the perfect figures for them to explore movable eyes.

A Splinter with real hair/fur is equally as exciting- and don’t even get me started on Casey Jones!!

They have the likeness rights, sometimes it's just not a good sculpt. Look at the BD Robocop Peter Weller likeness, it's off too.

Very excited that Joost sees the potential in 1/6 1990 TMNT.

I would like to see it match the Neca TMNT with better paint. I like the joints compared to the seamless but I imagine seamless will win out.

Yeah I don't need them to reproduce/downsize Neca. (I would just get the Neca)
Wherever Jazz can successfully achieve seamless (as close to the actual movie suits as possible) they should. I would be ok with cheating at the leg-to-hip joints for added movement/poseability, as that joint mostly transitions into and is covered by the shell anyway.

Splinter has got to be done in all his creepy ratty furred goodness, with a wired tailed.

Kinda disappointing if true. I saw custom Tatsu figures with a better likeness.

You make a good point there. No matter how many assurances companies give us about the durability and longevity of their silicone, the vast majority of collectors will still be so afraid of it cracking, the figures will stand in a museum pose forever just to be safe.

Yeah I'm not starting a museum, or a warehouse or keeping things on ice for resale. I've never been that kind of "collector".
I appreciate rubber suits are more fragile (and take as a given they have a shorter shelf life), I myself have, and seen plenty of people posing this rubbery monstrosity, nothing there they can't achieve or even improve on the turtle suit.
They could go heavier into full medical silicone bodies yet they don't even need that, only the "suit" has to be rubber, (I mean the movie suits didn't even look that good) They just need to match them.

And I don't need Splinter to feel like a mink stole or have some precise everlasting hair do, the rattier and disheveled he is the better.
