"To customize or not to customize" That is the question.

SS's SW figures hold no value with the rare exception. In the long run you'll be lucky to break even. Knock yourself out and customize away.

I think that is the answer i have been looking for!

BTWDo you all use acrylic? seems like it wouldn't be very durable. I wish CustomMikey would make a "production area" in his awesome site! hint.

Hehe, I just added a blog to my website, so you can be sure that when I start my next project, there will be words to be read and pictures to go with em!

For now, I will say that I do use acrylics. I suggest Model Master. Liquitext tends to be too thick, so I usually water it down a bit and use it for washes, or I use it for drybrushing, but never detail work.

Check out Tony DiTerlizzi for a great introductory to the wonderful world of customizing!

Awesome! Im going to paint mr c-3po like that and even include Jabba's slime...you know, after he slapped 3-po.

I am a completist as long as the PT/OT 1:6 line is concern. If I need to sell anything, these will be the last to go.(Actually I don't dare thinking about it :D).
Been struggling a little on whether to leave my collection as it is. Some of the items are deteriorating over time and some damaged from careless handling. Eventually I think I will have little choice but to the broken stuff unless I can get replacement parts which I doubt.

I'd only customize to the level where it can be reversed or buy a second part of the figure loose to do the customizing on.

Good point Calcifer, Maybe Ill just buy a loose head or two on ebay and get it out of my system..or create a monster. either, or both.

I would sooner make a new head using the SS one as a template, and then paint the new head and switch heads. I would do the same for any other parts that are molded. I would then sew my own suit if necessary. I don't like the idea of tampering with originality. Plus, if I make my own head, I can make subtle alterations in the sculpt to make it look better if need be. It doesn't take much more talent to sculpt a head than it does to do a really nice paint job, in my opinion.

Does anyone know if the SS Endor Rebel soldier helmet will fit on Jedi Luke's head? Im thinking of doing a custom speeder bike with Endor Luke.
