Toht has an Ark buddy!

He may be an ass, but he's right in this case.

It's probably a case of LFL having something in their archives and it turns out that it's not screen used, or is a 2nd or 3rd tier item.

The cherubs are the wrong shape and the side picture isn't as detailed as it should be. Hopefully they'll go with a finish that looks more metallic too.

:lol:lol:lol:lol

It is just me, or does the Ark almost look like a cube in that pic? Its not at rectangular as all of the products seem to be.

That image looks like it's been stretched just a little vertically. I could be wrong but Sallah seems too skinny (and Indy's head looks a little narrow too!)

Meh, either way I like how the Ark looks. Im more curious to see if the glasses will be changed or if they were made that way for Toht's melty face.

I think SS will address that. I hope.

I do agree with Dave, and I brought this up earlier as well, that I'm more concerned that they don't have a short body Pro for little Toht. He can't stand as tall as Indy or Belloq. In fact, Belloq is shorter than Indy too.

The Pro body is definitely a little on the lanky side for Toht or Belloq.

Anyway, Indy came out better than the proto, so maybe this line will follow in those footsteps.

Toht looks freaking awesome! He's even got everything but the proverbial kitchen sink.

Surprisingly, though, that includes the Ark. I really expected Sideshow to make it an accessory for a ceremonial robed Belloq. I hope this doesn't mean we won't see this version of Belloq somewhere down the line. I had no interest in the suit-and-tie version of him, but would love to have a ceremonial robed Belloq to accompany Indy and Toht. Perhaps Sideshow will still make one, but make the figure an online exclusive. That would be a cute reference to the old Kenner line (Kenner released a plain Belloq for stores while the ceremonial robe wearing Belloq was a mail away figure.)

Anyway, back to Toht. The head sculpt looks like him, albeit, not the smiling squinting Gilbert Gottfried lookalike I know and love. Lacey really only appears this way in one scene, that I can remember at least, when Toht performs the Hitler salute after being burned by the headpiece.

It really is amazing, all the things the figure comes with. Even the hanger?! That's just too cool. But the melted head is just awesome! If I only had the money I'd pick up another one just to do both versions of the figure simultaneously.

One thing does need to be addressed, though. The bridge of the glasses! Toht's got an Ark, he doesn't need an arc.

Belloq seems a little light on goodies now, doesn't he?

Maybe they should add an exploded head...well, just the neck stump, post-blown. Cheap, and very satisfactory for us.

Personally, I prefer the Idol environment to the Ark accessory for some reason... Seems better value for the $....

I would LOVE that!

There is still a chance we will get an exploding head with Robes Belloq! :lol

To be fair, I think the Idol Chamber is larger than the Ark and only costs $50 more than Belloq! I'd say we are really getting quite a deal on that!

The ark is more iconic though. Also polystone... why did it have to be polystone? As long as it looks right when the prod piece comes.

Ark = $70 ($170 - $100 Toht)
Pedestal = $60 ($140 - $80 Belloq)

Only $10 diff.

Plus, don't spread this around, but I've been told be reliable sources that the ark will include real ghosts. So don't open it... or if you do, keep your eyes shut!

Thank the Lord I'm back. My estrogen levels have returned to normal and the wife has her own log in. Anywho, the fig looks great. I was able to log on and PO in less than 1 minute.

D'oh! I thought Belloq was $90, not 80. Either way, the Idol Chamber is HUGE! And also Polly I believe. So I guess it is a toss up. They can charge more for the Ark because of what it is. I'd like to see some sand and/or the 10 Commandments in there instead of the ghosts. Although I'd take the ghosts over an empty box :lol

You could sell the ark ghosts on ebay and make your money right there! Definitely get the ark with ghosts.

Yeah, Sideshow's Ark does look less accurate than Hasbro's! I wish I knew that before I placed my order using up my reward points. Oh well, Maybe I will get the regular Toht after all and sell the exclusive.
