Well this was a surprise. The last one was a mixed bag of unfulfilled promises, crowd funding shenanigans, and obfuscation on exactly what they were putting out. I thought they were done with Trek.

Hope they learned lessons and can do this one right.

I cancelled the TOS version when I saw the base. I'm tempted to believe they won't pull that again. I even won't mind if they make the saucer section plastic so I won't be as front heavy.

Me too. This new base looks very boring, but the more important issue I have is will this need a support like the TOS Ent did, and will they show it before we have to commit any money to the crowd funding. Last time felt like a total bait and switch, no mention of needing a support system for the saucer till people were receiving their Enterprises.

All my ads on Facebook for this have written in big letters “NO VISIBLE NUTS OR BOLTS!” We promise to do better this time!

I’d like to hear their promises that the small stand will hold the diecast weight.
I and some others have been asking if the pugholes will be visible like on the TOS one, and if this will need a support stand like the TOS one did. After a few days they finally answered that we have been heard, and they are checking with the deisng team to get us some answers.

TOMY on their TOMY+ FB group released a FAQ today answering some quesitons. They said the ship will not be tilted on the stand when released. They also said that a saucer support system "MAY" be required on this one as it was on the TOS. I'm taking that as corporate speak as it will.

Is this going to be limited to shipping within the US like the first one was?

I’m glad to see them continuing on with this line, definitely a good thing for the likelihood of seeing others like the Enterprise D made.

I asked this exact question on their official FB page and they said they cannot rule out the need for a saucer support. When I asked if we would know before having to commit to the campaign I got radio silence unfortunately.

I believe USA and Canada officially. I think I read that today.

Thank you!

Looks like they updated their website recently as it’s on there now.

They need to do a better job on lighting the nacelles, we should be getting a consistent glow across it rather than the four light spots as shown below.

They've said the lights will be defused. Im sure it will eventually make its way to the FAQ or they will get rid of that photo when an update is ready to show. My only concern is having to have a saucer support. I really dont want this if its needed but they wont commit one way or the other as of right now :(

Yeah. It’s going to be like the last one and they won’t say anything. Just hide it in a email showing the instruction manual.

Then of course you’ll have people coming out saying how someone who worked in the design says it doesn’t need the support, and they display theirs without it and it has no problems.

Check back with them in a couple years, see how it’s going for them.

Theres a reason TOMY says it needs to be displayed with the support system.

Even the super expensive ones Factory Entertainment makes has a support.

Yeah if they include a support I would use it. I wouldnt tempt fate like that but it's so damn ugly! Why make the main saucer section out of plastic so we can have a display we actually enjoy looking at!

Who is pulling the trigger?

I think I may hold out for an Enterprise D if they make one (hopefully not at this scale though as it would be awfully large).

I’m going to get one if just for the investment. TOS version has already tripled in value in just over a year.
