Almost all the Tonner dolls in the past have had generic head sculpts. With these more mainstream licenses, such as HP they're trying to do likenesses, and doing it pretty well. Other lines such as Dreamgirls, Bewitched, etc. just used their generic heads. All of the kids do look like the actors - they aren't Gentle Giant accurate, but you can tell who they are.

Exactly! There was even a Tonner Doll Convention back in May, so the following is pretty large.

Not necessarily my thing, but intriguing -- I AM into costumes (fer'instance, I think Denethor's outfit, as well as Elrond's and the elvish armor, were inspired)... Will keep open mind about it until I see in person. $149 is actually not bad IMO for the detail that I think I'm seeing.

I agree, I would like to buy just the costume and put it on my own non-dollish figure.

I would like to offer Tonner a spoon. So they can eat my..... Well I am sure you can figure the rest out. They make dolls. They are pretty nice but not my cup of tea. I don't collect dolls. I am sure my wife would love them though.
