Hey folks -
Here is a list that my staff and I put together of the Top 10 Comic Book Gift Ideas. We tried to focus on books with broad appeal. Hope it helps with holiday shopping.
1.) Injustice: Gods Among Us Vol. 1 HC
Who’s it for? Fans of DC Comics and/or fans of the popular Injustice video game. Perfect for readers that like Elseworlds or “What If?” stories.
2.) Joker: Death of the Family HC
Who’s it for? Fans of The Joker. The character made a brief appearance in the DC New 52 in September of 2011, but this is a Joker tour-de-force! The Clown Prince of Crime is going to make everyone that Batman cares about suffer.
3.) Star Wars Vol. 1 TP
Who’s it for? Star Wars fans, of course. This takes place shortly after the Battle of Yavin (that’s the end of Star Wars: A New Hope). Great storytelling and characterization by writer Brian Wood & artist Carlos D’anda.
4.) Star Wars: Jedi Academy
Who’s it for? Fans of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. This is, essentially, Diary of a Wimpy Kid in the Star Wars universe.
5.) Sonic & Mega Man: World’s Collide TP
Who’s it for? Fans of Sonic and/or Mega Man. This collects the epic 12-part crossover event between two popular video game characters.
6.) March: Book One
Who’s it for? Students of history; those interested in the Civil Rights movement. This is the first of three autobiographical volumes by Congressman John Lewis recounting his involvement with the Civil Rights movement.
7.) Quantum and Woody Vol. 1 TP
Who’s it for? Fans of buddy action-comedy films; Deadpool fans. Full of humor and super hero action-adventure.
8.) Hawkeye Vol. 1 HC
Who’s it for? Fans of street level super hero stories and humor. One of the best comics being published at Marvel Comics.
9.) X-Men: Days of Future Past TP
Who’s it for? Fans of the X-Men films who may be new to comics. It’s the inspiration for the 2014 film of the same name.
10.) Captain America: The Winter Soldier TP
Who’s it for? Fans of Captain America on film who may be new to comics. It’s the inspiration for the 2014 film of the same name.
