Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Since we are talking about painting on the last couple of pages, do any of the brands that have been mentioned need to be thinned for airbrush use or are they all good to go?

On acrylics they say you might not need to thin them--gloss paints are crap for the airbrush, so go for the matte paints. If you need to thin them, only do a little bit, just do a test without the thinner, and then see how it works, test on something else beforehand.

I would suggest asking silent surfer's advise on airbrushing. God has truly blessed that man with some serious talent with an airbrush. I was pretty good about 20 years ago but I stand in awe.

Wowzers! Awesome work MJ :rock It's tough to make any sort of distinction because they are all so amazing, but I feel like River is one of the strongest of the crew.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I wasn't satisfied with the Book head I painted for stshammgod that he posted in this thread 4-6 weeks ago. I've made him wait while I completely repainted it, enjoy!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

That is some stellar work, maybe my favorite paint job of yours :clap

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

I thought he did a great job on the first go round, but this one is just icing on the cake. LOVE IT!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Thanks for those posts on the Book repaint guys! Trev, I'm so thrilled you liked the Book repaint too.

We'll be painting the whole crew soon for another fan soon and also doing a really neat Mal full custom for myself really soon.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Awesome! This thread has a gravitational pull that pulls new people in and gets them excited, and it all starts with your sculpts Trev!

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

This thread is the most civil and polite thread I've come across on the freak board. Every one is trying to help and encourage one another. It is a very friendly place. Makes me proud to post here. I posted over on the DC forum a while back, and they told "Old Grandpa" to go back to the home.

Whedonville has always been the most civil spot on the board. I'm glad not too many people come here.

:goodpost:

You know, I have noticed that lately. Some of the other parts are really awful, full of arguing, etc.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

Yeah, most of the posts are just arguments pointlessly done back and forth. Look at the Hot Toys Indiana Jones thread, 4-5000 posts! I check that thread all the time for new photos but it's just the same things over and over.

Now on this thread, it's just real Firefly fans reading and posting, no nonsense.

I prefer to post on onesixthwarriors as it is much more civilized than this forum but it is a smaller group as well. If you want to see the latest photos of new figures out, they are posted about same time as this board or earlier, but you don't have to sift though the thousands of posts in each thread to find them.

Re: Trevor's Firefly Sculpts

If you guys would be so kind as to ignore my atrocious photography skills, here's my River painted by GDB.
