Trying to choose between BvS Batman & JL Tactical Suit Batman

Hey guys,

Just wanted to hear your thoughts/opinions regarding choosing between BvS Batman and the 2.0 Tactical Suit Batman.

I currently have BvS Batman with an Unreal Customs cape. I think he is a great looking figure with an iconic look.


However I was intrigued by the Tactical Suit Batman in the past but passed, now this reissue has me very tempted. I love how the upper body looks but I think the lower body seems a bit bulky bk of the leg armor but I’m not sure.

So I would appreciate the insights of anyone who wants to weigh in. I have to choose bk I don’t allow myself more than one version of a particular character.

I have the tactical and I do feel Hot Toys missed the mark on it. Other than the stubby legs you mentioned, I feel they didn't capture the shape of the cowl properly. I like the BvS suit a whole lot more and would have that instead of the Tactical.

Personally I always thought the BvS suit looked amazing and subsequent suits felt like downgrades.

I think BvS for sure; however, with InArt planning on making him, you could probably sell the HT BvS right now and make enough to pay for the InArt version later.

That said, if you’re only looking to have one Batfleck and prefer not to spend the money on the InArt, I would keep the HT BvS. The 2.0 JL Tactical looks nice but I feel it’s one you could get tired of and potentially regret not keeping the BvS after all

Heres my gameplan: Get the Hot Toys Tactical Batman and wait for a potential InArt BvS Suit (hopefully for better materials).

Also, if Hot Toys releases that new Batfleck on a Batcycle. I’ll go with that as a curtain call figure.

Does that mean you can't have another stored away and swap them out?

I think that Tactical has its issues but a lot can be alleviated. I made the neck a bit thicker. Extended his ankle pegs which lengthened his legs somewhat. I do think he does have more shelf presence than BvS.

Yeah I have to admit that the fear of regret about getting rid of BvS is a deterrent

That’s a great idea, although the headsculpt on the tactical version is really good, the neck does seem skinny

I’ve been thinking about this myself.

I used to own the BvS one and in honesty it’s one of the few figures I regret selling despite it not being a “perfect” figure.

I’ve been looking at either replacing the BvS or getting the Tactical 2.0 - my decision so far is to hold off until either the updated Tactical suit releases early next year or if InArt drop preorders for their own to reconsider.

I went down into my basement where my BvS Batman is stored to have a look at him and think about what I’m going to do.

The BvS Batman is really a great looking figure and it would be hard to part with him. So I think I will probably get the 2.0 version of the JL Tactical Batman to keep in my collection at home (still need to get my displays set up) a s put my BvS Batman on display in my office at work.

I think that may be a good way to own both figures yet not violate my one figure per character rule, although I realize that I am “stetching” my rule a bit.

I like the BVS version because it's inspired by the dark knight returns, i have the suicide squad version and the cape is just horrible, I wish the suit had that look too, like a stretched fabric and wrinkles :

I essentially echo exactly what @Gipetto0812 said.
The tactical is cool. It a little overly chunky and difficult to pose but, if you can have only one, it must be the BVS look.
I’ll be waiting on InArt but I am definitely apprehensive about selling off my BVS version before the announce exactly what they’ll be offering even if the value immediately tanks. I bought my BVS Bats loose and missing accessories so I’ll probably be lucky to give it away by then.

They mentioned doing Cavil, Gadot, Batfleck - most are assuming it will be the trio from BVS

Not even a competition Tactical is garbage Snyder dropped the ball hard with that one. BvS is a DKR homage masterpiece!

Inart’s should be out by 2037.
