Looks like it might be just a bit too self-aware, but. . .I'll give it a shot when it comes on Netflix. Does seem like it could have been an '80s b-movie.

I think the terrible special effects and cheesy overacting are in that ballpark. But of course, it's true that movies meant to exploit some perceived nostalgia for old movies aren't going to have the same core essence as the originals.

Meh..it's trying too hard to be like 80's film, but it takes more than some 80's style music to accomplish that.

Just done watching and it was boring.
The irony angle with that genre is getting Old.
I rather Watch real Old school cheesy post apoc flicks.
