Hey all,

I finally entered a SSC contest that looked super interesting to me (the tomb raider pf). But it also said that you must tweet about the giveaway to qualify for entry. I never used twitter before which is the reason why I'm really confused.

When I created the twitter account I did not use my real world name. My question is: how will they know that I tweeted about the giveaway if they don't know my twitter account name? The only thing that links my contest entry to my twitter account is that I used the same email. Is this what they look at or was I supposed to use my real name on twitter?

Just seems wierd they would ask you to do something but not have to show proof afterwards.

Thanks very much.

They will private message you via twitter to get your information.

Thanks.

I checked but it doesn't look like they sent a message. Is it because I didn't use my real name to create the twitter account?

They're only gonna send you a message if you win.

I know it wasn't intended to be funny but something about reading that post made me laugh really hard.

Oh! I just reread this post and there was some confusion earlier. Are you saying that they randomly draw one of the twitter names? But why did they need to ask for my name, phone, and address if all they needed right now was my twitter name? And what's stopping other people from creating multiple twitter accounts and tweeting on all of them?

Why don't you go read all the contest info on Sideshow's website? All your questions have answers there, eagerly waiting to hook up.

Thanks, I reread the t&c page again and it helped to refresh my memory. But maybe you're referring to another page?

It didn't seem to mention anything about twitter but I'm guessing this is how they draw the winner: Randomly pick one of the entries on the sideshow website, then ask them for their twitter account so they can prove that they tweeted about the contest.

Oh... I think I see what you're asking now. If you RT it, include @collectsideshow, or whatever hash-tag they ask for, Sideshow will get a notification. You don't have to go to sideshowtoy.com at all.

edit: we're censoring "s-h-t" in the middle of words now?
