What do you do when a country's citizens are so powerless they can't even force out leaders that basically claim they are gods and fabricate lies from anything about their military strength to trying to claim that their leader hit 7 holes in 1 in his first round of golf? It truly is absurd that this exists today.

Do you punish a whole country for what their lunatic leader does? Really a no win situation for the US and the rest of the western world.

There's no question that we can annihilate them on a whim. The only question is do we let them strike first with a nuke.

Time for Seal Team 6

China's made so many moves lately, particularly in trade agreements, that indicates they are getting ready to make a real push against the USA. I have to wonder if the NK provocation is really just China seeing what they can get away with.

and...

Dennis Rodman is the new Jane Fonda. :lecture

It honestly wouldn't be in China's best interest to "make a real push against the US".

It is my understanding that they're getting rather fed up with N. Korea the same as everyone else.

I think he is talking about the U.S selling weapons to Nazi Germany up until America joined WWII.

I believe even Henry Ford(huge Nazi supporter) was still doing business with the Nazis during the war.

It's not in China's best interest to be communist either. In the game that is international politics, the popular trend has been all about building China up economically. Between the EU and China, we've seen alot of moves that came off as antagonistic toward the US. Most recently, China has been digging their heels into Canada with treaties that make an awful lot of concessions.

Specifically FIPA:
https://canadians.org/action/2012/Canada-China-FIPA.html

And what is with all these "democratic" countries offering "Most Favored Nation" status to this gigantic human rights violator? It's like we've learned nothing from the bloodiest century in recorded history! When China is given enough safeguards to pull it off, they will be willing to burn some bridges, no question. You've got to think: what can the US really fight with when we've got troops perpetually thrown into foreign wars, a hollowed out economy and national debt that we don't have a hope of crawling out of?

We are highly vulnerable right about now.

Nobody sold weapons to Hitler. Most of their weapons were developed and made in Nazi Germany, many made in the Erfurter Maschinenfabrik.
I was meaning who has funded hitler during the WWII and sold weapons, try to inform..mate..

generals motors..ig farben

Edsel B.Ford, Ford Motor Company;
H.A Met, Bank of Manhattan;
C.E. Mitchell, Federal reserve bank of N.Y and National City Bank;
Walter Teagle, Standard Oil of New Jersey (then Exxon) and Federal reserve bank on N.Y;
Paul M. Warburg; a Federal reserve bank of N.Y and bank of Manhattan;
W.E Weiss, Sterling products.

at the end... Ford, Standard Oil, Bank of Manhattan, Federal reserve of N.Y

is enough?

the weapons was built by ig farben and killed nazi and americans...at that time wall street splitted the profit and gestional resource of the war with the germany
Walter Teagle was the rapresentation of Standard Oil but rockfeller was the major head...
just to know...during the air raid in germany all the city was smash up but the factory of the ig farben was unhurt at last..this is story mate...

try to search this together the name of hitler :
Holland American Trading Corporation and Seamless Equipment Corporation they given the resource (steel) to hitler to build the weapons...

Half of north koreas population over 5 million people were murdered by the u.s.a less then a generation ago.......so when the media in the west talk about there paranoia and lack of trust of anybody from outside the state....it starts to smell of the usual B.S.,think this is more about taking out the little state and surrounding china with military bases......bring on that fight!

It'd be interesting to hear how keen Sth Koreans are for the all-out confrontation some folks here seem to be advocating.

I think the koreans are tired about the harassment and the abuse of power of the usa government and military forces..
they have found the cop out with the twin towers trick to go in iraq and afganisthan to take the opium gardens (for the most) and the oil..the talebans did know this and tried to burn all the gardens before the usa military incoming...
but the media are lied about all this..
who has believed in a terroristic attack, is blind..

North Korea could wipe Seoul off the face of the earth with conventional artillery. I don't think the South is really excited about the prospect.

The war for Irish independence is over. You don't need to ally yourself with every weak crackpot country out there anymore in some act of solidarity against the evil empires of the world.

I think that the Korean War was never officially ended. They only agreed to a cease fire that has lasted over 50 years.

:goodpost:

This could almost be an interesting discussion if the dumber folk would keep out.

That is correct.

Just send in The Rock and Bruce Willis. They can take North Korea out with a dinky tank and a El Camino.

I initially thought this was all bravado and saber rattling from North Korea, I'm not so sure now. What could their end game be? They know they'd be outmatched in a conflict with us, and would probably have most of the world condemn any unprovoked attack against us, or South Korea or Japan.
