I'll take GSP to G&P a TKO stoppage in the 2nd.

I'll also take Mir to choke out or break something on Carwin.

BRING ON MIR/LESNAR 3 !!! :banana

anybody else notice Nate Diaz will be fighting at WW tonight? :rotfl A lot of the 155 guys are too big for him, can only imagine how he would do against some of the huge WW's. Maybe this is the division we will finally see him KTFO'd in :monkey3

Mir is gonna get his face broken with a straight right, Stag called it..

Please let this happen

I did. lol He should have been KTFO in a few of his fights. If tonight is the night it happens, great. I'll place it as a wallpaper on my computer.

I agree, I think Hardy talks a lot of crap, and he has no idea how bad hes gonna get whooped on if the fight goes to the ground.

It should be a good fight. I'm sure Serra will be in Hardy's corner. What a turd.

Mir tells it like it is. I can see why people hate him but o well, he hypes fights. Mir is just better everywhere than Shane except wrestling. It sucks because I like both guys but I would rather see Mir walk away with the W.

yeah but can Nate put on that kind of weight?, I mean at 155, he looks like a string bing, I wander if hes gonna look huge at 170

See thats why I like Frank. He tells it like it is and just speaks his mind, but and people just assume hes a cocky bastard. I think on paper Franks got more weapons and hes going to ruin Shane. I will say best of luck to both. Its going to be interesting either way to see who gets Brock.

Basically this "move" to WW just consists of Nate not cutting weight. He weighed in at 171 lbs. with apparently no cut. So it's possible he could actually put on weight and then cut down a little to make that 170 (+1) WW limit.

Past weigh-in pics for Nate @ 155 lbs.

You can see the difference (especially in his face) now at WW. So basically come fight night, he's gonna look the same as before. The problem for him will be, ALL the WW fighters come fight night are like 185 - 190 lbs. :lol

GSP is gonna take the fight easy. I would love to see an upset preferably by brutal KO but, i just don't see it happening. GSP will use his superior all around game to keep Hardy guessing and punish him with this controlling GnP and grappling.

CARWIN is gonna KO Mir. Mir may have the tools on "paper" but on paper means nothing. Shane is just too damn strong for Mir.

BATMAN Kurt Pellegrino is gonna pull this one out. He needs a big W for his career, and its going to happen with an impressive performance on the main card.

KILLA B Ben Saunders, is going to be a difficult matchup for #2 in the world Fitch. Fitch relies on controlling his opponents on way to victory and he is going to have a VERY tough time controlling the MUCH LARGER Killa B. I see Killa B ending this fight in impressive fashion with strikes, possibly knees...but would not be suprised if MR. DECISION Jon Fitch pulls of a decision win...this fight will be the toughest call of the night.

JIMMY MILLER vs Bocek is going to be a GREAT grappling match. Both are excellent grapplers but i give the edge (on the mat) to Bocek. Miller is going to win the fight on the feet and he will not get caught in a Bocek submission. I see Jimmy Miller winning via Decision. I'm biased because I used to train with Jimmy at AMA Fight Club in Whipany NJ :) but i do think he's gonna win

MATT BROWN should dismantle Riccardo Almedia on the feet. The major problem is if Almedia gets a hold of Matt Brown. Almedia is a WORLD CLASS BJJ practicioner and if the gets control of Brown on the mat, lights out for Brown...however I don't see this happening. Matt Brown will win this fight via TKO.

NATE DIAZ will beat the overweight Rory Markham rather easily. Submission or decision.

I never really understood why guys dont fight at their natural weight, they usually fight in the division that is right below their natural weight. I feel that if I dropped 10-15lbs to fight in a lower division, that I would feel weaker, but it seems like every fighter does this, what is the benefit of it? For this fight though, Nate is fighting at his natural weight.........

They do to get a competitive advantage. I did it in HS wrestling, all through my career. When I wrestled against someone who wasn't cutting weight, i was usually the naturally larger and stronger competitor.

what is the benefit of it?

It's not so much a benefit as it is a necessity. The majority of fighters competing in the United States cut weight. And most with wrestling backgrounds are used to it so it's second nature. Like you said, if YOU did it you might feel weak, etc. and that's true for people who aren't used to it or who've never done it before. So it's a necessity because the majority of fighters in a division (in the U.S.) come fight night weigh significantly more.

LW - 170+
WW - 185+ (GSP said for tonight he'll probably weigh like 190 - 191 lbs)
MW - 200+
LHW - 220+
HW - Most have to cut down to make that 265 lbs limit.

That's the biggest problem foreign fighters have in the states, especially Japanese fighters. Because they tend to fight at their natural weight and end up in fights with guys who have a 20 - 30 lbs weight advantage come fight night. F'n Anthony Johnson fights at WW (170 max) and he routinely cuts 30+ lbs. That's insane.

I guess you could call being able to compete a benefit. lol. But imo it's a necessity. Unless you wanna fight bigger opponents consistently.

Used to be.. but nowadays since pretty much every fighter in MMA (in the U.S.) cuts weight, it's no longer a "competitive advantage". It's a necessity to even the playing field.
